Discussion on teleport.

I feel that teleport is currently just too strong of a summoner spell. It gives you a global presence on the map, minimizes the penalty of dying in lane, and in some cases can get you out of some sticky situations. At first glance it doesn't seem too bad but how it interacts with other game mechanics can be just straight up broken. We've all probably faced homeguard tp Hecarim or Rammus at some point, and you've also probably seen the level 2 Olaf cheese that's so popular lately. On top of this it really encourages passive play in the top lane because when you kill your opponent you aren't really punishing them as much as you think. They're able to just teleport back to lane with more items and regen and if you didn't do the same then they can just push the wave and you'd be the one losing out on xp. Funny how that works. I feel like there's a way that we can fix this without getting rid of teleport completely and that's to make it a boot enchantment (gold cost and cd up for discussion. Could also limit the amount that can be bought per team) and get rid of it as a summoner spell. I feel like this would do a lot of good for both top lane and the game as a whole by encouraging more dueling and also getting rid of all the cheese strats that revlove around tp.
