To everyone complaining about veigar

Guys this is getting ridiculous. I have been browsing the forums and the complaints are a bit much.

I will agree that Veigar was probably a little over nerfed, and riot should have not done this heavy of a nerf right after saying they would compensate him for the DFG removal. However, you all have to realize that he was a bit too ridiculous by being a point and click death machine. He needed some sort of nerf. In my opinion I figured the only nerf he needed was not have the infinite stacking passive on his Q. All of the Veigar players need to get used to placing your stun more strategically. Don't aim to stun the hyper-mobility champ before he attacks; place your stun on your self as hes charging then blow him up.

I have seen plenty of Veigars do just fine with the nerfs hes received. You are are not going to accomplish anything by screaming at riot to "revert the Veigar changes" because they don't want him to be a point and click champ. They want Veigar to be more difficult to play now and thats good. He was to easy and could murder anyone with a little bit of AP. If you are good with him he will be even harder to face.

Stop playing champs that take no skill and get good with champs that take a little effort to get good at. It will pay off in the end.

I always enjoy threads like this.

Veigs can't be a burst mage, but Leblanc is allowed to exist that offers the same, if not less counterplay to Veigs.

"But Korea was using him bot lane!"

Oh the horror. Every mage that can't keep up with the mid FOTM champs goes bot and does stupid things.

Riot gave you summoners, items, and some champions that could easily deal with Veigar, he didn't need these half assed changes, and anyone arguing that he did is either trolling or not the brightest bulb.

I would argue that his stun before these changes was one if the hardest skillshot to learn to land consistently. Hell rumnle's ult is easier to use than that stun now I have to deal with a delay long enough that most assassins can kill me first. Also we wouldn't be complaining if it weren't for the fact that this was a "compensation buff" instead of being told it was a partial rework or a nerf as that is what they did

I'm afraid you don't quite understand the real problem with the stun change. As you already probably heard on the Boards people can walk out of your stuns with a single click of a button (HAH). None of said that the stun nerfs were unjust, we all knew it was strong and was going to get nerfed, but we also assumed that they knew the consequences of doing this.

As of right now Veigar went from reliable to unreliable.

His Q is now a skill shot, the very definition of unreliable. Secondly, his stun has a delay now on its own its fine but take in to consideration his W then you have a problem. Lastly, the nerf to his stun affected his W, both those spells are one in the same if you weren't going to kill them you were going to drop a dark matter on them because the delay of dark matter is far to long for any body to get hit by it (1.2 delay).

But like I said the stun isn't the big problem, the problem is what the stun did to Veigar.

It completely changed his playstyle. He is no longer this mage that if you get to close will obliterate you. He is know literally Ap Nasus. Is that bad? Maybe not. But I can sure tell you that if I wanted to play champion like Nasus I would be playing Nasus. This is the big issue, they completely changed Veigar with a simple nerf and because of that alot of people who mained him don't like him any more. Having a different play style is not bad, the bad part is the new play style isn't the reason why we played Veigar.

The q to a skill shot can be reasoned with. It actually helps with building faster, BUT it doesnt help when u are trying to land that final hit on a champion. It has its ups and downs. BUT the stun was very important, not only for getting the upper hand, but landing the combo attacks needed for killing players. The delay is pretty long. Gives lots of people too much room to get away from veigar and the stun. http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/gameplay-balance/mmye08YI-veigars-beloved-stun-items-idea

I know the stun is very important. In fact that's why his whole play style has been changed, his stun. I never said it wasn't important, I said that the stun wasn't the biggest issue. The biggest issue for me was the fact that his play style got changed.

Its always biased when your on the topic of your main, but when the community agrees with you you've done something wrong.

So what has he become after this patch then?

**An actually AP Nasus. **

I don't like it.

He went from a mage that would poke you with Q and find a way to balance that out with farming.

To now only farming, which sadly doesn't matter how much AP you get. You can have 1000 AP but if none of your skills can hit a target you might as well have 0 AP.

I am fine with a delay on his stun but I think they need to either 1) shorten it, 2.) make it less obvious or 3.) give a slight increase to the size of the borders that actually cause the stun.

Uhm, Veigar was a "point and click death machine" to a single target..a single squishy target, a single ap squishy target. Other than that he was not even close to needing a nerf.

He did what his character was designed to do and was very balanced compared to most other mages. Then they removed DFG and thought nerfing his E (and iirc his R got nerfed too)

Picking an assassin would completely shut him down even with his stun the way it was.

  • Stop playing champs that take no skill and get good with champs that take a little effort to get good at. It will pay off in the end. Play Veigar vs Zed and tell me you didn't need to put in "a little effort" to not go 0/10 the first 10 minutes

It's not the point and click death that bothers me. It's everything else in his kit. He has the most reliable CC among mid champs, hands down. And he hyperscales thanks to his 'q', and he essentially has a free chalice built into his kit. They should have nerfed him more.

What is wrong with you?

vel koz would be more oppressive in bot lane then old veigar

riot made his kit useless, his stun was his most important ability, without you can land meteor, without meteor you cant kill anyone and on top of that q was made skill shot, so only reliable damage is his ulti

Q's get blocked by minions, pushes lane, slow projectile and buggy hitbox and actually range is lower than stated lol E no way to stun anyone with it, unless they walk into it themselves W well if you can stun them you cant trade with anyone and if you get engaged on you will die R damage lowered In short they broke his kit completely >_<

pretty horrible buff i would say and that is the reason everyone complains about veigar

The stun was ridiculous and could not be kept and people need to see that. Thresh has the same thing as veigar's stun in his kit except it was already on a delay, only one person could hit the same wall, it only slowed, and it was melee oriented.

The thing is Veigar's stun was ridiculously long, long ranged, instant, and offered no chance for the enemy team to play around it. The only POSSIBLE way they could even THINK about keeping it like it was was if it was enemy targetted so you WOULD trap the person inside instead of going "I clipped you with the wall, you're dead."

What people really don't seem to understand is that with that stun Veigar COULD NOT in any way be strong and still be healthy for the game. He was one of those champions that when he's good, he COMPLETELY DOMINATES EVERYTHING.

The problem was that he was NOT played as a farm mage unless forced (behind, fed, bullied, etc.), he was THE burst mage that used his q to poke and get the occasional tank minion. Now they are forcing him to be THE farm mage, contradicting how many high level ranked players used him.

There was also a lot of synergy in his old kit that directly related to his stun that just got disrupted, changing the E directly altered all the others excluding his R. His kit was really linked in many ways that got changed, because of how his e was the center point of his kit:

Q passive powers up W and R, allowing you to max your E without falling off in the damage department E stun allowed W to land reliably increasing damage output E was your main engage, requiring you to land it to do anything worthwhile to your opponent E was your main disengage/counter engage, allowing you to survive and poke the enemy with QW in the event of trouble

Now that they altered his E, its current iteration only allows it to be a disengage/counter engage, making him lose out on all but the last point above.

Now after they changed his stun, his kit overall got hurt in general. This is on top of adding unreliability for his Q in most departments but farming, again making him play a style that is considered not his main playstyle. Without a reliable engage, his kit has lost all meaning. They saw him as THE burst mage, but lost most, if not all, of the synergy within his kit that allowed him to be THE burst mage.
