Promotional placements after 10 games: 5 wins equals Bronze V why??????

Dear League players,

I just yesterday complete a ten game promotional placement for Ranked solo/duo and was giving a position of Bronze V after 5 wins. Am just trying to understand why the lowest possible position is giving to a 50% win ratio. Not judging the help and hindrance to get those 5 wins as a solo entry, but surely the reward would be a higher position in bronze if not Silver. if anyone can shred some light on this matter, it will be truly appreciated. another season in bronze terrifies me.

You were Bronze IV in Season 6...what did you expect?

Because who you play against matters.

Players have rating based upon who they actually win and lose against. Matchmaking puts you into games where each team should have a 50/50 chance of winning according to their ratings. Your matches placed you into matches with people who are low Bronze and in these matches you had a 50/50 performance, a wash, and as such were placed there. It's not all unfair.

Today I had a team with 3 plats 1 bronze 1 silver vs 4 gold and 1 silver.

appreciated, so this randomising of quality and ranking had nothing to do with my position in ranked is what you are saying?

Your MMR is bronze V - when the season cycles there's a soft MMR reset, which results in most people's MMR dropping by a full tier (diamond+ players can't get placed higher than plat 1 for example). A side effect of this is that people in Silver end up at the bottom of Bronze.

lool do you know how hard it is to play with other bronzes V, dont get me wrong am not complaining, but it is am absolute struggle XD, i can win my lane fine, i team fight and gank alot, but only takes one champ to screw it up. this happens alot in bronze, and i just find it unfair to judge like that , when i know i can do fine in gold or silver.
