Not really. There's more powerful cc, more powerful and long-ranged poke, and better sustain options. Considering ARAM is full-on teamfighting and not laning, Sona is going to die every all-in if she ever gets caught out.

If you have anybody like Blitz, Leona, or Thresh, you'll crap on her just fine.

Maybe a less-bitchy way of putting it this - you are a AD-heavy team, so not a lot of books around. How do you deal with her?

Well, with the new Mark/Dash spell it's a lot easier for melees to get in her face and kill her (she's extremely squishy). If you're trying to not die to her burst, a Banshee's Veil alone deals with two-thirds of her damage.
