How will mmr in iron effect a platinum player on a fresh account?

Lately we've been seeing a lot of streamers do iron to challenger streams. Theyre some of the best players in the game, and can basically faceroll to at least high diamond. So for those guys its not any issue. But what about someone thats platinum?Ive been plat for last 3 seasons, but it takes me a bit to get there. Ive been stuck in high silver and low gold before. If i go 7-3 in placements on a fresh account and get placed in iron 4 with gold 4 mmr, then at what point will my real rank actually be in line with my current mmr? You see these guys climb out of iron fast and by the time they are silver 5 they have diamond 3 mmr. Well, im not that good. My peak mmr is about 2k. So at some point i feel like ill get stuck in like bronze or something and have to tank mmr a good amount to get it closer to silver or something so i can actually climb to plat, and it seems like it would be a super slow climb trying to catch your rank up to your true mmr when you get placed 4 tiers below where you actually belong. Wouldnt your lp gains be hugely effected by this too? It just sounds horrible to me. If anyone has any insight or clarification on this id like to hear it.

you skip divs if you win a majority of your games early, even skipping promos.

Depends on where the starting MMR falls. Used to be in silver so that's roughly the 50% Percentile marker. with new tiers, it depends on what riot sets as a start point + how many returning players from last season are around.

Less will be in plat if they move It higher on ladder. Will be more difficult to reach. More will be in Plat and it will be easier to reach if they moved it lower on ladder.

Need to know the start point + how many soft reset players are around.

Brand new accounts always place in Iron.

They are supposed to be adjusting how it works though in 9.2, so not fully sure how it's going to work completely but they were working to make things even out better by the time of the season reset.

So am I getting this straight? If I get hard stuck with a higher MMR then my rank I need to tank some games so I can climb?
