its not a shield. a shield is a gray, damage absorbing bubble around your health bar.

galios bulwark is a buff.

so just to be clear, galios bulwark and athenes have no synergy.

Athene's expressly indicates that it stores up premitigation damage, which is a fancy way of saying a shield that absorbs damage for you until it hits it's limit. Galio's "shield" is a straight stat buff and in no way absorbs damage.

Galio's is a stat buff but does contain a heal. However since the heal is a self heal doesn't proc it.

Well, premitigation isn't clearly defined, so I apologize doe having no clue what it was. I tried using context. As for why Galio can't trigger it, his "shield" isn't a true shield. It's just a stat boost with the wording shield applied. The types of shield that Athene's refers to are shields that actually absorb damage, such as Lux's Prismatic Barrier, Morgana's Black Shield, Taric's Bastion, Janna's Eye of the Storm, and the shields from Face of the Mountain and Locket of the Iron Solari.
