I'd like to have a discussion about fizz

So as some of us know, fizz is getting changed in the next patch. For those who haven't read the patch notes the scaling of the active portion of his w is getting reduced by half (-5 per level) and his ult now only amplifies magic damage. To compensate his q and w are both receiving buffs of 0.05ap.

Now this is obviously a nerf to top lane fizz - it significantly cuts his sustained dmg (20 dmg per auto is approx 200 in an extended trade) and negates his all in potential - and the compensations ONLY help mid/jg fizz, as top fizz rarely builds ap.

Mid lane fizz actually doesn't lose much of anything, as w is maxed last and lategame his physical damage enhanced by ult/damage with w is virtually a non factor - I believe he is actually getting a small buff.

Now from my experiences and from what I've read on the board, mid lane fizz is the type people have more of a problem with - maxing e means the cd on his absurdly irritating invulnerability cuts the cd in half - and these changes pigeonhole fizz into maxing e.

This is speaking as an admittedly biased D1 fizz player who plays both top and mid fizz, prefers playing top fizz, despises laning against mid fizz, and has no problem whatsoever laning against top fizz - I do think he needs a nerf, but not like this. If anything, I think the cooldown on his e should be raised to something like 18/16/14/12/10 with the damage receiving a per level damage nerf.

Personally I never liked the enhanced damage on his ult, as it brings him more towards a "land one skillshot and overkill anyone," and I think that landing one skillshot shouldn't give him the right to obliterate someone from the face of the earth.

Opinions?

I played this one game as Karthus a while ago. I underestimate Fizz's power. His ultimate killed me from 60% health.
