ping - level the playing field please
anyone can just google to find the average ping tier chart where like all challenger has west coast ping. I am not going repeat the same argument, but rather I will give u example when it really matter.
human average response time is like 150 ms to 300 ms, so a 100 ping may not sound like much, but what if I tell u ur opponent does everything 50% faster than u.
case 1: Katarina ult vs hour glass. idc how godly u r, that extra ping is a different in damage taken, it is not just a death, since there is snowballing and lol is a team game. that extra dmg u too can mean feeding and allow her to snowball, or worst it can be her getting a reset off you and proceed to wipe ur team out. case 2: delay aoe (brand pillar of flame, xerath, cait, chogath rupture) there is a brief moment of delay meant for u to gtfo, but guess what when u see the delay animation there isn't enough time left to get out. I know this may sound like QQ, but I am the same player since last season, but I noticed that I got hit with these sort of things a lot more often this season when my ping is 100+ so yeahhhh... case 3: mobility vs xyz skillshot cc (ashe ult, morg snare, brand sear...) high ping = whatever u see is outdated => u r hitting someone who is already somewhere else. case 4: the diff between life and death, think zil, shen, soraka, trying to wait till the person almost dead, ohhh wait, that person was already dead ur computer just hasn't caught up yet case 5: using shaco ult, yi alpha strike to dodge stuff like karthus ult . try that with high ping and tell me how it goes. case 6: execution skills. that person was briefly in ur range but u cant kill him cuz it take longer for the server to realized u was trying to kill ur target, and by that time ur target is no longer a valid target this is my personal experience aka QQ: I was morde fighting near dead lee, he had like 5% and I was at over 50% hp, I knew I can just ult and kill him, but the ping dif make it so that all y attempt to ult fail and die and his team win the team fight and push for game. sure human response time is 200ms, but there are times you are not responding. Lee sin W Q Q E flash R is just a series of button the player knew he was going to do, which reduce the delay to 100ms per action. Sure, both he and I know what he was going to do, and I am sure he knows I press R and he instantly die, but since he can do things faster than my computer can catch up (120 ms ping) he Is I am as good as suppressed. end QQ case 7: untargetable vs target spells (vlad vs nunu ice ball) in theory u can use ur pool to dodge it, except u r gona get hit before u get to pool out case 8: last hit. harder to last hit when ur control is just too clunky thanks to ping
rito if u cant fix the ping issue, at least level the playing field, make minimum ping like 150 for folks in Canada and north east too. Since a lot of west coast player says 100ms doesn't make a diff, I am sure 150 ping min should be ok :D
it is either 100 ms doesn't matter, u cant feel the different >>> make default ping 150ms then or Fk you, I love my unfair advantage in west coast, please do nothing riot.
