The pros or cons of have 2 ADCs on 1 team?

I like playing vayne top sometimes but it hurts our team comp sometimes. Can someone explain why having 2 ADCs would be good or bad? Thanks!

Having another adc (assuming it's in the toplane) can deprive your team of Utility like CC or damage soakyness (Say if you went Shen, Shyvanna, or Mundo) and Innitiation capabilities (Like Irelia, J4, Etc). One of the more obvious plus sides is being able to pump out more damage, but it also has the potential to leave both of you more vulnerable, as there's one less person to peel for you.

Pro: earlier power spike as a team more threats on your team

Cons: You lose late game Team comp is weaker because of double ad squishy

there are actually things i am missing but for some reason i can't think of them

The exact opposite of this post. Literally.

Pros: Late game power as a team

Cons: Lose early game

What do you need to make it work? You need a mid, a jungle and a support with CC. Preferably a tank support and a bruiser jungle for frontlines. So if you don't have at least one hard tank and a lot of CC in other lanes, it isn't a good idea.

i don't see a double ad comp winning late game most of the time. they are extremely weak.

How do you reckon? The entire point of the role is to be insane late game and weak early game. That is why you give them gold and babysit them with a support. ADC stands for Attack Damage Carry. As in you carry them to late game, they carry you to victory. The very definition of the word is that they are really strong late game.

in my opinion the idea of a double ad comp is to push towers really fast and move the game along so fast that when the ads hit their 15-20 minute power spike ( the earlier the better) you can end the game by 30 minutes by taking enough inhibitors etc. That's why in double ad comps you usually see champions like ezreal/cait. you see corki to make up for the lack of ap damage on the team and he has really good poke and trade potential with an early power spike of trinity force. Ezreal is because his W boosts the attack speed of the team therefore pushing faster and cait is because she can siege safer than any other ad and she has really good wave clear with her peacemaker. The double ad comp is really reliant on getting an early lead.

Normally the double ad comp looks like this:

  • Top: Tank
  • jungle: tank/offtank
  • mid: AD
  • AD: AD
  • support: high cc or steroid support

OR

  • Top: AD
  • Jungle: tank
  • mid: ap
  • AD:AD
  • Support: high cc or steroid support

In the first instance you lack AP damage which means the enemy doesn't need to itemize against mr so they can itemize solely against armor. Thornmail and randuins are enough to squash a double ad comp late game if they didn't take a big enough lead at their mid game power spike. additionally this composition is really peel dependent and i the peel isn't enough the ads will just die to bruisers and assassins. It's also very weak against flanks with teleport or something. AD mid also limits your roaming potential other than to take a tower.

In the second instance you are lacking proper peel for the team comp. Jungle doesn't have enough income to tank throughout the game and support again isn't as strong as top tank. So in this version you have two mediocre tanks to peel for your team and most of the time thy will just get blown up because of the lack of needed resistances and more importantly income. Your front line is gets squashed by a normal comp late game and depending on the champions picked, mid game if you don't get a big enough lead.

Pros: More damage, more range, more hyper carries on your team so more to die for/protect.

Cons: Less tanks/more squishy mid ranged fighter 500-650 range minimum. thats it ranged owns all.

Just picture Teemo top.

It depends on what kind of jungler and support you have. Teams need tanks to initiate and peel, so if your team is lacking on tanks you really shouldn't go with an ADC top.

Cons: 1.Because you'll have two people to flame at your supp :D 2.Lose CC and a Tank (unless you got Maokai or Nautilus they just sit on people) 3. You will have an adc in a solo lane and champions like Ryze Riven Tryndamere love getting carries alone 4.Lose Late game because of reason 2 (maybe a bit of 1)

Pros: 1.Two adcs=earlier power spike 2.actually that's all i can think of...........
