I've had terrible Ranked experience so far.

My Ranked experience has been GOD AWFUL. I've only played 5 out of 10 matches and I lost all 5. I was actually really excited to start playing Ranked (I started playing in Feb of this year, and played normals up until this point), as I've been trying and trying my hardest to get better at champions I love, but it seems all that practice means literally nothing as I'm paired with teammates who've fallen out of Silver (I'm saying Silver because it's a general idea I have of my skill.) while the enemies are in high Silver or even low Gold. It's been an unfair, frustrating, and hair pulling experience.

Just wanted to get that off my chest. [sg-shisa]

Chances are, if this is your first season, and think you are playing at a silver level, you are actually about low to mid bronze.

I am only assuming I'm Silver because of the people I am constantly matched with. Most of my friends are silver, the enemies (mostly in Draft Normals) are silver, and most of the time my teammates are Silver (unless it's in Ranked, for some reason, like I stated). I can see where you're coming from but it's not consistent.

If you are just starting ranked, your MMR is at about a mid silver level and will play matches there. It doesn't mean that is your actual skill. You will move there over time.

I'm in my first ranked season and am at bronze 5 (legitimately) and it took about 80 games for me to drop that far.

I always find it odd when Ranked Systems rank you higher than your actual skill level. It can make for frustrating and downright unfair placements and matches from that point on.

the LoL ranking system is pure shit and it's clear early on. It's trash when you try to climb too where you need to be playing at like 2-3 divisions higher just to get out of your current rank

I agree that it's frustrating, but think of is as a new player you are unknown so you start in the middle - elo rankings have to start in the middle because the middle will move to the starting point over time.

Eventually the games will get easier.

Based on your stats and builds I'd still put you as bronze level, same with the people you play with. Silver 5 and bronze is pretty much the same thing so dont think that because they're "silver" that they're much better. Around S2 and S1 is where you can feel a slight improvement from the S5 & S4s.

most of your normal game opponents are bronze 2 or unranked

Alright, fair enough, I guess. Definitely need to improve then. Thanks.

Dont be too discouraged, pretty much every new player starts placements in Silver 2-3 level then tank their way to bronze. I started in bronze 3 in season 3. The rest of your placement matches will probably be mostly losses too, but once that's over you'll have more even matchmaking and figure out where you'll belong

Even if you win lane and lose the game (most common low elo complaint), you feel like that's out of your control but really that's when you really still don't know what you're doing bc you can heavily impact the rest of the map but dont know what to do yet

See, this is really useful for me to know and I thank you for telling me, but that's bullshit. It's honestly extremely disappointing to get a Rank you think you belong in, since you were placed in there, already going through Hell and back just through placements, to truck your painful way down into Bronze.

Even if you win lane and lose the game (most common low elo complaint)...

This happens to me and my friends a lot-- we don't really know how to roam. I know it exists. I know you can do it. But I'm just not proficient at all at doing it. Like, how do I (I mostly play Mid), properly Roam, etc?

Based on your normals MMR you are about equal to a player that is currently 10-27 in silver 5. He is botton 19% and you are bottom 18%. So based on this, I guess you would be around mid bronze to low silver rather than low bronze to low silver, as long as you were playing solo in most of your normal games and not having the MMR inflated by playing with friends.

If you are bronze 5 and your friends are silver 3/2 it will end up putting you against low silvers in normals, therefor inflating your normal's MMR.

Low level ranked is awful

Higher level ranked is still pretty awful, but not as bad. Low level ranked you have trolls, AFKs, smurfs of every rank. It’s a complete dice roll. Good luck!

I find plat the best rank for ranked. People there are decent. In bronze everyone thinks he is Faker so they flame. In diamond everybody thinks he is better and that others drag them down so they flame. In plat nobody cares really - if they fall a devision they are still gold and that's the only rank that matters and if they climb good for them. So yeah. To tell you the truth I waited 2 years before my first ever ranked and ended in gold 1 if I recall correctly. (Only from the first 10 games - 7/3 and never played more) You have 6 months of play (don't want to offend) so even you don't know how the game works as a whole. You know the champions you play but don't know that much of the interactions your champs have with the allies' and enemy's champions.

I'll definitely make it a goal then. And I do agree I may have hopped on the Rank Train a tad too early. Through reading this, I've realized that 6 months- for this game- isn't much time at all and I can definitely improve. Thanks!

You are welcome. And don't worry you will learn. Just take your time and by the end of the year you will have improved a lot. Something to keep in mind is that for now you should really pick a main and a main lane so you can solo carry out of silver. At the lower divisions people don't tend to be supportive really. whats ironic is there isnt a single person i know that thinks plat is not the worst elo in the game.

the amount of toxicity/trolls/inters/afks in that elo are mind blowing.

i dont dread anything more than promoting to plat on a smurf and knowing if i lose 2-3 games im nto goign to skip and will sit there for longer than i have to.

nightmares occur.

Wait what. I find it just lovely. There is difference between EUNE and NA yeah but the people in plat seem kinda decent. We take this with a grain of salt but late gold and early plat is the best experience I had in this game.

I looked up your match history.

It looks like you are playing lux support? Buy your support item, and probably more importantly play an actual support. If you want to "hard carry" swap lanes. It looks like there is a lot to pick up on, and honestly streamers, pro builds, leagueofgraphs will help you way more then your random lower elo friends.

Since you're on your first season take the following advice : Don't blame your teammates and don't focus on that, don't fall into that trap. Ppl smurf everyday and get climb back their ranks so it's really up to you to increase your skill and knowledge. You can carry. You've to get better at your mechanics and your game knowledge but this will come with time. You can use educationnal content on youtube such as "Skill Cap" that I use myself too. It teaches a lot on how to carry your games. It's totally normal to be placed bronze on your first season, I did too but I climbed with time and practice.

Placement matches are just dumb This is my first season too, started around february, wanna hear my first 10 rankeds results?

All losses, you heard right.. 0% win rate out of 10 games

You can't match a newbe that has just started with low gold players.. this was the worst experience of my life.

Then you get placed, and ... : wooow, i can actually win?

But Yeah, rito should do something about that, they expect a total newbe to be on par with the rest of playerbase that play since s1
