Autofill in ranked

Autofill in normal makes sense, because it decreases queue times and its a normal, but why do I need to play with a 35% winrate MF adc, when I can be playing with him as a 48% winrate garen. Why do I need to play with players out of their comfort zone in RANKED? I honestly don't care if I have to wait 4-10 extra minutes as long as I'm not going to be wasting 30+ minutes with a -13 lp at the end.

Is there any valid reason as to why auto fill exists in ranked, other than "muh queue times"?

That does sound nice to only have to wait an extra 4 mins, but unfortunately it's not that simple. Que times increase exponentially as a surplus of top/mid forms with them all having to wait in line for support players to que. Sure the first person in line might only have to wait 30 seconds more than usual, but the fiftith person in line has to wait another 25 mins. Imagine sitting there for 30 mins only to look away for 11 seconds and have to reque. Doing that every game gets really boring, really fast.

Yes, actually.

You can hit a point where matchmaking has to search so far below your skill level to find someone queuing for that role that even them maining that role would put you at a disadvantage. In that scenario, it would be better to get a player with more overall game knowledge, experience, and good positioning than it would be to get someone who is lacking in all of those categories but mains a certain position.

gee i knwo the feeling i auto filled supp yes no one like to play supp....so the adc got first blood wouldve had a dobuel but ran from bushes ( she was cait) wasted time laying a trap down then didnt get it. so she backs and buys boots, attack speed item and brawlers and pots......... trist the enemy adc bought pickaxe and rekt her and i tried to explain why she was losing but the typical bronze do not want to lsiten so i was pissed
