Guys REVERT SHEN BACK TO OLD SHEN

Since Shen's was a major VGU, they're pretty unlikely to revert him, like they did the Kog'Maw changes. However, they have said that they aren't happy with how Shen turned out after the rework and will be reworking him again in the future.
I hope this is true. Can you point me to the official comment. I'm disappointed with the rework myself.

I'm not sure where the official comment is, but I remember Jeremy Gaming Curios talking about it and showing a rioter comment in one of his videos a while ago.
I like the new version much better than the old one. I really don't think Vorpal Blade is/was as good as everyone seems to think it was. I did play both Old and New. His new kit is really powerful and gives him a lot of effective health and power in fights and 1v1's. Other than the static ghost blade that just kind of tag's along I feel his kit is far more cohesive and fun. What exactly are you unhappy with from old to new? I am genuinely curious.
TL;DR = Was effectively changed from caster combo champ to auto attack champ. Some will appreciate that and some will not.
I like old version better as well. Im not the main thread op, but main thing for me is old shen had a decent base dmg cast combo and on demand and multiple full coverage dmg (all dmg types, on demand, low cd) mitigation during/after trading with combo. You just 'need' one auto to have an agressive or passive-agressive laning phase and to regen energy. (outside of farming minions).
New shen had most of the dmg sapped away from that particular combo, had the dmg type dilluted and very poor compared-to-old dmg mitigation. You are an auto attack champ now, rather than a base dmg caster combo champ. I liked being a ranged q harass, base dmg, full tank, caster combo, no auto (1 for passive), assassinate low health targets (1200dmg or so taunt-flash-auto-passive-ignite-Q) shen. Not one that requires close ranged limited dmg mitigation continuous auto attacking just to lane. I just can't really pick up the laning phase now.
Many issues with energy. Regen half prior effect rate (same number but against twice costs and twice pool size = half prior effective regen rate. active energy recapture costs energy (previous version didn't) and can be zoned or locked out by target minion/champion denial/zoning while playing aggressive enough to force spell use for positioning of W and threat of Q. Can be drained to no energy with limited ability to get any energy back with smart opponent. Happened to me several times.
P.S. also the taunt distance seems off. Not sure exactly but an example of how it feels. feels as if old shen taunted at edge of his model and as if new shen taunts at center of his model. Not sure if this is accurate just seems i'm 'hitting' someone's model edge and getting nothing for my efforts. Dunno if taunt travel speed is same or where to find out. That could always cause this type of feeling that distance is off if travel speed has slowed. Something feels off. Might just be me though. Dmg mitigation on taunts was removed. That's stupid. also passive bubble has no visual animation (not the use animation but the off cd animation that passives tend to have including old shen (like annie wind spiral thing for her passive, old-shen sparkling bracers for his)), no grey or cd countdown when on cd, no buff/debuff indicator to show that it is available. I've died due to that and will again. You have a passive that you have to guess when it is up.
Example: https://youtu.be/DJCZipJw-ao?t=21m50s This fight which ends at video time 22:30. Right when im stuck between 3 people and trying to figure out whether I can trade me for lucian or possibly escape i'm multiple times having to guess when to pop the passive. The very last time when I hit Q i guessed wrong :P Oh well :(.
P.S.S just verified tonight while watching a shen stream that the passive spell button on bottom of screen is now showing a cooldown phase. Pretty sure when the kit first rolled out and for some time that it wasn't but now i dunno. At least in my spectator video linked the spectator is showing all abilities cd's but not the passive's go on cd or off cd. Might be something they fixed. Would be nice though if they had a off cd/available to use animation as alot of others have including old-shen. But nice that there is at least that one method.
LOL! Necropost much?! J/K. I understand your points and even can understand why you'd prefer that play style to the new. However, for me, I feel the new kit is far more streamlined and responsive than the old but I also love the AA mechanic with his new Q and feel like he has better sustain with all the shields from his passive and especially now with CoC being a great keystone on him. Even Grasp is still good on him. With Sunfire and Titanic being pretty much core, he get's tanky and powerful all at once.
I do agree about his hit box on the E. It feels off... Way off. I swear it hits but I get no taunt. It's endlessly frustrating when you miss something that would have been game changing but still looks like it connected. I think the taunt should be moveds to the edge of the animations direction. It does feel like it's somewhere in the middle of his model which I think is a clarity issue..
I also agree that his energy costs are ludicrous for the high CD his spells are on. Other energy champs don't feel even half as energy starved as Shen does. Might be b/c his ult is so strong but honestly that should not be the deciding factor.
Thanks for a response. I need my shen venting :P occasionally :). With regard to necro, time is relative and not only might this be one of the most recent old shen / new shen posts; but it turns out I think this is also how long ago (or short ago) that my desktop's harddrive died and i've been putting off sticking the new one in this long now (already had it bought). Wheels of Time churn turn quicker than the mind can keep track of or/(and) never underestimate my ability to put something off. I do want to put some time in on new shen when I do get the thing up and running. Trying to 'lane' makes me mad though. Oh well. Practice makes less bad they say.
LOL! Agreed. Sorry for the comp trouble. I just bought a new case and moved all my guts into the new body only to find out my case supports USB 3 instead of 2 so I had to go get adapters before I could connect my peripherals. As for procrastination I might have you beat there but we can compare and contrast later.
New Shen is really good I think and one of my staple picks b/c he does % health damage from his Q you may find AS marks really strong on him all game long. I like MS quints on him as well makes hitting my E much easier. Seals and Glyphs are best as health/Armor and MR. Masteries 12/0/18. I take furry, fresh blood, natural talent and battle trance in ferocity and the tank choices in the Resolve tree. CoC or Grasp are both awesome on Shen. If you feel the lane might be a hard one I'd take CoC but if you think you can win trades and make good use of your spirit sword then Grasp is great to keep you healthy.
Q will be your bread and butter for keeping your energy up, trading and last hitting. I think you will like the new Shen once you spend some time with him.
