Why doesnt riot ban smurf?

I just ran into a pro player who is challenger tier and got 2 games in low plat that were ruined. The guy was streaming on twitch and after the game sending everyone link. Why is this allowed. These game were not fun for any of my teammates when we are outmatched and out-skilled so bad. I get that its hard to catch smurfs etc but riot really needs to put there foot down and say SMURFING in RANK isn't allowed. Honestly, just making that statement and allowing us to send it tickets when dumb players who smurf provide proof would easily stop this.

and in all fairness, as long as i am playing to win and am not trolling my team or cheating, does it really matter?

Couldn't agree more. If smurfing is legal (and it is) then the point of having a ranked system becomes obsolete imo. And those who get screwed are the majority of players, the low elo ones. It's against the rules and literally inbuted in the game that you cannot play a game between ranks with two level difference. So why is this still allowed to smurf? The answer is simple, as people have said: $$$$$$ Money $$$$$$.

Before those high elo players come and type the same thing they type all the time ("Git gud", "Don't make excuses"), I'll just state that I'm far from butthurt. I just have a functional brain that sees the obvious injustice in fighting a Diamond+ player in a low elo game. I don't blame smurfs for my elo. But I blame smurfing for many handful of games, and that is enough to conclude it isn't fair. Ban smurfs, ban boosters and keep ranked system clean. Address low elo players' and high elo players' complains. Don't just complain about boosters because they affect your diamond+ games. No one is special, we are all players. (this last bit was obviously not addressed to you, OP. It's just a shoutout).

they make moneys, also making riot moneys. smurf = more skin buy = more account = more player statistic online. The only downside is that low ranked player like me get stomped and have a bad day later, but who cares actually? no one, just no one. So I left.

They have never stopped people from having multiple accounts and they never will. There's no feesible way of doing it.

So the implication here is... being better than the people in your match in a bannable offense? In Plat?? Because that would be the precedent you are setting. Being significantly better than your current ELO being bannable is an awful idea. If you get curbstomped take is as an opportunity to learn. What did they do to beat you, how did they play, how did they leverage their lead? It's not like this is an account intentionally pushed into iron so they can get some meme stomp games against the lowest tier players. It's an account that they are using to climb. You lose because they're better than you and now you are on the boards complaining they should be banned?

Just saying your argument is stupid, everyone plays to win in ranked. The only problem would be if they were trolling in which seeing as how you're having a tantrum over losing that's not the case. You might say otherwise if the smurf was on your team. Either way smurf or not they're still playing the game properly, you just don't feel like acknowledging you lost.

Also seeing as how the others are saying using Draft works, tell me how many Draft/Normal games have you played with teammates having the same attitude as if it were ranked?

The main point is you rarely meet any smurfers in the opponent or ally team, blaming them is understandable and what you mentioned is true. NOW, most people put smurfers and boosters in the same bag of dirt. While boosters should be actually banned for obvious reasons, smurfers are different and dont deserve a punishment because they simply climb out of your elo and you won't meet em unless you reach their level of skill and climb too...boosters on the other side of the coin they climb an account but obviously the player paying for the boost will most likely drop and he will ruin players games in that elo until he gets back in his starting position and pay again for boost(logic) so yea i hope that explains it.

Beyond what Wizard Blaze said, there's alos smurfs artifically increase number of active accounts/players, which makes the data they have collected seem buffd and strong. From a player viewpoint is's pointless data, but corporate workers really love big numbers. Doesn't matter what those represent.

Smurfing isn’t wrong. If you buy smash bros and have two switches and you play really well on one of them and then are much higher ranked in smash does that mean you shouldn’t be playing ranked on your other account because you are better than the other accounts? If you demote because of a smurf match that’s not their fault it’s yours for going on a huge lose streak as well.

Smurfing is a way to improve yourself in other roles. Playing normals is a terrible way to improve because you can face anyone in and skill ladder. This is coming from someone who always has smurfs in my games and I am bronze so if it doesn’t bother me it should not bother you.
