PLACEMENT MATCHES
Why are my placement matches around gold? I've lost 5 out of 7 games and it's still mainly around gold.Why does it not lower the ranked players to bronze or silver?

Thrëat2 votesIf it is your first season playing ranked Riot makes it incredibly easy to start in High Silver / Low Gold. It is actually pretty hard to start in Bronze your first season. Most of my friends that started playing this game placed Silver 3 or Silver 2 their first season, which made them think they were about "Gold Quality" and then they dropped to Silver 5 and stopped playing ranked. The following season they went down to Bronze 5 and were pretty stuck down there which bothered them because they thought they should be at least Silver 3 or Silver 2 since that is 'where they started' when they first played ranked.
It is a pretty flawed system. Most people think they are better than they actually are because of this, which leads them to spend more time blaming team mates or finding excuses for losses rather than finding ways to improve. People don't try to improve when they believe they are playing at an rank much lower than what they deserve.
