why I believe the matchamking & tribunal system are broken

For the past 2 years now, I have tried my best to improve mechanically, increase teamwork efforts, stay as positive as possible, and tried my absolute hardest to carry any game I could. However, whenever I solo que, it seems like I always get qued with someone who lags, leaves, trolls, feeds, on tilt, or just flat out refuses to listen or cooperate in any sort of way. No matter how well you play, its very rare to actually win a 4v5/3v5 situation. In the beginning of season 4, I was promoted to bronze 1 which i thought was pretty fair because my mechanics arent perfect. Its the end of seaosn 4 and someone how im still in bronze 1! think I must have at least been in promos literally 10 times, and never made it to silver 5. The reason ? Their are too many people playing ranked for "fun" or just do not take the game seriously. If you happen to be gold-diamond elo and reading this, you would probably think this thread is just another b1 player complaining about elo hell which is true. But elo hell for gold-diamond players is completely different from bronze-silver players, usually if you were to lose in a gold-diamond ranked match was simply because you were outplayed and they had better synergy than you. The reason we bronze-silver players could never win a game or promo is because we have that one afker/feeder/troll. You know that tips in the loading screen? I remember one of the tips said "the tribunal system fixed (400,000 i think? idk lel) players behavior. Its funny because Riot boasts says that this number increases every year but this is still a major problem thats effecting most players. I created a very simple bucket list that if Riot were to follow, this game would be 9001x better:

  1. Fix server lag & increase the loss prevention. The biggest problem in solo que, effects literally every player no matter what tier you're in.

  2. Fix the matchmaking. In my opinion, matchmaking people with their tier is pretty broken. Ive played against many silver and even gold players pretty easily before, this may not be the case for you but it should be noted that most bronze players are really silver 1/gold 5 players that are stuck in elo hell. I have a great idea for a new matchmaking system : Record the k/d/a r, gpm, cs, tower kills, etc into one stat. When in solo que, bring the 10 most closest stat average and put them in equal teams. This is just a idea of what you could do to fix this solo que crisis, literally thousands of more ways to fix this.

  3. Increase the punishment. Instead of giving the player a message when they get reported to often, why doesnt Riot suspend the account for 1-2 hours if fewer LEGITIMATE reports were sent to the person.

  4. MAKE SEASON PROMOS HARDER. You know those games you have to play to to put into a tier? I dont know about you but those are so broken. Ive seen one of my friends win 4 games of ranked and lost 6 and was put in SILVER 3!!!

I love league of legends. Its probably the most fun and challenging game out their, and I wish to see this game for many more years. But Riot not fixing any of the problems, not listening to the community, is just heart breaking.

First off, let me say this is not me trolling you, this is me trying to give you honest advice.

The one thing in common all of these ranked games with leavers, afkers, and trolls have in common is simple... YOU. You should seriously analyze what you do and what you say both before, during, and after games. If this is truly as common as you make it out to be in your games, then to be blunt, you pretty much have to be doing something - or perhaps not doing something - that is causing this to happen.

Leavers, afkers, and trolls are a part of online gaming - it happens to everyone occasionally. While it's possible that you have some kind of super power that works across the internet and attracts the worst of the worst to you, the fact is that many high ranking players have shown repeatedly that they can start in the bottom of bronze and work their way up to Diamond and Challenger. If you are as skilled and knowledgeable as you say you are, you should be able to get out of bronze. If you can't... well - maybe consider for a moment that you are the problem?

The first step to fixing a problem is recognizing that there is one. While LoL's systems are by no means perfect, maybe if you accept that you are the root of your own problems and instead of blaming others or the system in which you are placed you could begin looking for how to fix your troubles?

Agreed that individual scoring should be implemented.

You'll say "but KD and CS don't equal skill!" and "But supports!".

They should. If they don't, change the rules of the game until they do. The MOBA ruleset isn't a gift from god and is in fact pretty stale and outdated. It can easily be reworked to allow individual rating.
