5/24 PBE Update

I know is not the actual nerf page but it says something about them.So i have only one question.....Why are you nerfing Illaoi in a state where she is not good anymore....i mean it's not like it was a real treat or something like that because it was very rare to find a Illaoi who really knew how to play or a illaoi who was playing at all.Changing the E into bursting 3 tentacles instead of spaming them,or the tentacles don't stack anymore you are changing the way illaoi was played and the reason of why she was fun .(sry for my bad english,i'm not a native speaker)

Illaoi is badly designed and is almost unplayed.

I disagree with your first statement. Illaoi is the truest Juggernaut, imo.

What nerf are you referring to? I only see the Slow change (which is a buff in a lot of situations), and her W changes.

The change to her E happened in 6.9, I think.

And I don't see it as a nerv, really. Sure, her win rate dropped 1 or 2 % for one patch, but that gave her some leeway to be worked on on a meaningful level. The old E was just stupid in my opinion, unfun for your opponent and mostly a trial of patience, pretty luck and opponents skill related damage, no meaningful way to densely spawn tentacles to set up a teamfight, et cetera. Now you can better use windows of opportunities as illaoi and really increase your zone and follow up on it. This gives all players a better chance to play around being a vessel.

I would just wish they would give Illaoi some more consistency. The PBE changes right now are just some changes in numbers and slight buffs to her damage -and this is not the main problem with her, in my opinion. The outplay potential against her is just too high in high elo, while she can be felt as extremely oppressive and op in low elo. Imo, the swing speed of her tentaclea, especially after her W, has to be increased and her dmg potentially decreased if this makes her too strong.

They're just trying things on the PBE so they can figure out what might work. It's one of the things the PBE does occasionally. When players test it, Riot can get their feedback on how it feels and how powerful it is (with thousands of testers instead of the dozens in Riot employ). A lot of PBE changes on difficult champs never see Live servers.

They don't do it just occasionally. The whole purpose of the PBE is to experiment with changes.

Yeah, I was just understating it.

Though to be fair, champion balance is not PBE's main purpose. Its much more significant role is testing for bugs that break the game in some way. Balance is nearly impossible to figure out there since few people play champs they main and there aren't enough people on for MMR matchups to be very even.
