Rank S and Champion Mastery Point System is just ridiculously hard and stupid.

Earning -S rank or higher is such a painful thing to do ....... I have been playing xin zhao 20+ games this week. Some of them were bad, some of them were good. But i still don't know what is my progress of earning S rank.I don't know what to do exactly to earn it. I don't get it what is the point of this system ? Wasn't the old way of rank system more simple and easy to understand ? ALSO its so frustrating to play nonstop.. and you can't even know what is your progress of earning S rank. Riot...Most of the players (especially in bronze or iron) can't play perfect and the fact is .. THEY DON't NEED TO. League is played for fun and thats how everyone should play but now players are forced to play really hard and nonstop. Thats why many players are so toxic..because they are forced... Make this ranked system more simple and not so painful.Just look at other online games like Hearthstone, CS Go and e.t.c In hearthstone for example if you win you earn a star and after getting a certain amount of stars you get to next rank. I know that it's a different game in different genre...but you get the idea. So in conclusion... I have been looking to some other forums and discussions. There are many people complaining about this system even high elo players. here are some of them https://boards.euw.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/champions-gameplay-en/bdmMqxQc-why-champion-mastery-sucks

Sooooo.... Pls !! make this system more simple.I am not saying make it to easy. Just don't push players too much.Let us relax a little bit.... I hope you can fix this, <3__

Focus more on your macro game than your micro game - map awareness, warding, clearing enemy wards, securing objectives, etc.

Also, I love the postgame report that the Blitz App gives after every game. It gives pretty basic data on what you did well and what you need to work on, and I'd highly recommend it. https://blitz.gg/

if im correct s ranks are based on averages on that champion in that role at that elo, it takes everything into account including kill participation etc

s ranks are ment to be rare and for very above average matches rank 5 is your typical games played rank whereas 6 and 7 are ment for going above and beyond on a champion so they are ment to be a grind, you used xin zhao as an example right, well im a xin main and i have no issues getting s ranks on him because i have experience and mastery on the champion its really that simple, its all about progress you'll get there with improvement

Also, if someone is low elo, it would be better to try get the S in rank rather than normal right? Because in normal u are compared with the whole spectrum. On the flip side, if someone is high elo, S are easier to get in normals I presume, for the same reason.

The problem is that Riot is forcing players to play perfect which is pretty difficult especially for new players.

wards.

kill to objective conversion (get or participate in a kill, then move to an objective like a tower/drake/baron)

team fight participation

creep score

roam

all sorts of stuff counts other than KDA. if you goto your profile and goto stats and look at a champ, after you've played a few games you can click on that champ and get more detailed info on how you play them vrs how the average is, from many different facets. looking at this and the advanced details for your matches should help you figure out how to get s's pretty consistently.

i have bad days where i get zero s's in a day. but most days i can get 2-6 s- or s. and a usually 1-3 s+ a week

Play an off role and ward a few times. If you get a couple kills youd get a free S.

It's based of off averages for champ/role so try Xin mid in a match up that isnt awful. Have fun ;)

Thanks for advice <3.

What you need is to have high cs and high KDA as well as damage to objectives and vision score compared to the top percentile of other people playing the same champion in the same role. And, as our friendly gargoyle has already suggested, playing the champion in an off role makes it easier to get that S because the competition is less.

A good way to see what you are doing "wrong" is to check your "statistics" tab and check what part of the game you are doing poorly and try to work on that. It also compares your stuff to the average in your rank so you have a semi-clear idea of what your goal is

From experience jungle is the hardest role to get an s- or higher in because its so reliant on getting cs, vs, kill participation, and kda. If you play a high gank oriented champion like Xin, then you are going to have less time getting cs. Likewise if your playing shyv, then you'll be too busy getting to level 6 before ganking more often.

My best advice is to play that champion in a different lane. I find that support is the easiest to do this if you can duo with a friend who's a decent adc

I just enjoy the jngl role. It's more fun to play for me.I think this system is stupid and i think they should change it.

Creep score. Although I don't agree with it, CS is 90% of where your mastery grade comes from, regardless of role. Objectives, kills, vision all help a bit, but CS is always by far the most important thing for letter grade.
