Pink ward regeneration?

Do people tend to leave pink wards unattended if they spot an enemy ?

Well my thinking is that if a team successfully defends their ward for long enough it might be nice to have it regenerate. In effect, it would form a new, semi-neutral spot of contention outside of the usual Baron or Dragon pits because both teams would know it's there and both would actively seek to defend or destroy it.

But I could also see a counter-argument where it just makes it that much harder for a losing team to come back because vision control would be that much harder to gain back.
