I'm just confused, maybe I'm stupid :L

So I was playing my ranked flex placements I got 7 wins and 3 loses, but I got silver 3 as my final placement, my other friend got 8 wins 2 loses and he was just silver 1 in solo que. I'm just confused, my rank is silver for Solo is silver 2. I just find it kind of strange that my friend got placed into Gold 2. Please tell me whats going on. Thanks :3
