Sion W Passive Is A Handicap

SionSion is a great champion, with a good CC kit that makes up for his lacking damage during mid-late game. The truth is, Sion is a team-fighting tank, but the word "tank" becomes a bit questionable for him when he is unable to have enough health to be compared to champs like Poppy or Maokai . The way his W passive works, he gains a 2hp health boost every time he kills a minion, and a 10hp boost if he kills cannon minions, champions or larger jungle monsters. Rito has "balanced" this health gain by giving him less health at level 18. His health is 1784 at lvl 18, which is 286 health less than Poppy . He would have to farm 143 cs to have the same health. The problem with this is that Sion Sion is a roaming champion that will often use his ult and CC kit to teleport or charge into other lanes, and this means he has less time farming. If Sion farms a lot, he will be as effective as other top lane tanks in the late game, but this sacrifices the support he could have given to other lanes. The other problem is that his kit is perfect for support, but the health passive yet again handicaps him in that position. This means his only viable roles are farm-heavy jungle/top lane. Please Rito, just give Sion more health at level 18 (lets say 2000hp) and remove the health passive entirely. The passive doesn't scale well enough for a player to consider farming solely for this reason, so just get rid of it.

hes great champion now due to ridiculous cc. and he does a decent amount of damage

Yes his cc is ridiculous if the enemy is unable to notice his Q charging (which would be in a team fight situation), or if he slows the enemy down with E. Plus all of his spells can have AOE damage, which is crucial to team fighting. His CC is not my issue, I just want his health scaling passive to be removed so that he has enough health without farming to play the type of game that sion should be played. I would say he's not played in competitive because he relies on farming (and is unable to split push due to his low damage against turrets). I RLY JUS WANNA C SUPPERT SIGHON BEECOMB VIABELL.

not really if there is someone he can chain cc with your never getting out of the cc.

He also gets health on kills and assists.

Yes he does get a bigger health increase of 10hp, but I don't believe it's enough for him to be played in a support role, or be a gank-heavy jungler

Jungle isn't actually bad since strength of the ages stacks with his passive and he gets 10 for every big monster kill.

Ganks aren't easy though.

I play Sion support often. I do consistently well with it. There's nothing wrong with Sion.

Good points but thats just one way to play Sion . While you may think that constantly helping others lanes is the main use of his kit, some people might say that you should just farm top and be more unkillable than a Nasus post-30 min. To each their own I guess but Rito is probably not going to remove his scaling health as it would diminish his gameplay options.

I guess the point I tried to make with this post is that I don't want sion to be farm reliant, because his kit is more oriented to helping lanes and team fighting instead of just afk farming. If he should be a farming champ, he should be able to take down turrets easier and help his team while he farms, but his damage to turrets is about as strong as a cannon minion. If he could take down turrets while farming, that'd be cool, but his current state is all about helping other lanes (which is why a health scale passive for minion kills should be removed).

His whole kit is a handicap. You never feel like you outplayed your opponents they just failed to move out the clearly defined and announced way. His passive is pretty meh too and sadly riot used alot of his power budget on it. Problem is it requires him to die which is contrary to his role of a tank that doesn't die. Not only that he gets on move speed boost and so just 1 cc is all it takes to get away from it along with the long time it takes him to revive. He has great scaling on q and r but to take advantage of it you have to be squishy and since the health stacking passive costs him base stats hes squishier than most unless farmed.

Alot of people were awed by his update but fact of the matter is he's not really better off especially after the nerfs he received. Why have a tank that needs a lot of cs and hope his enemies refuse to move to work when there are simply better options.

if you think getting 143 cs on a solo laner is hard... sorry but what? is this assuming he never gets any kills/assists and he never kills a single cannon minion? because if that's the case then you must be doing something horribly wrong

Sion's W passive is not a handicap, hardly a weakness. If a Sion plays at all well he will average enough to keep him in line with most tanks or pass them up, sometimes even by a significant amount, regardless of how far into the game you are. Your all but guaranteed to pass them if a game goes long enough for everyone to hit 18.

On an off note I voted "telegraphed abilities" as his biggest weakness, however, the strength of his aoe damage and cc more than makes up for it. He is a very healthy champion; very difficult but also very rewarding.

Good luck out there bro.
