Why doesn't Anivia's wall grant vision anymore?

I'm not sure if this was posted in the notes or not but as of this patch (7.14) Anivia's wall no longer grants vision of the surrounding area where it is cast. Why was this changed? As far as I know this was never a big issue of too much power for her. She has already been nerfed in the recent past and her wall has granted vision since the day she was released.

It feels terrible now. Please, re-introduce this as a feature. Poor Anivia. :(

with the nerf, can you make Anivia fly faster? lowest HP, one of the slower champion, now you have to facecheck everything.

They put it in the "bugfixes" section of the patch, which is also where they put that Taunts/Fear/Charms can now interrupt her ultimate which is stupid because that was never a bug and has been intended since the day she was created. I and many other Anivia mains wouldn't complain so much about those CC interrupting her ultimate if they just straight out say that they did it intentionally to be a nerf instead of pretending that it was a "bug".

As far as the wall not granting vision, they said that they wanted to remove abilities that grant vision when the ability itself isn't suppose to be a vision based ability. The idea was to make it so only actual vision granting abilities will create vision like Ashe Quinn etc. Which it does make sense and they did remove it from some other champion's for terrain like Trundle but it's really going to hit Anivia's safety and make it could make the wall a lot more riskier when used in un-warded areas.

The fact such important changes both got only one-liner in bugfixes makes me feel like even Riot is not too sure about them.

RITO PLEASE BRING BACK MY BABYS WALL VISION!!!! >:( As an anivia main who liked to use this skill for the mobile vision it makes me angry! Anivia isn't as a mobile champ and the extra vision helped a lot when i didnt have wards up . WHY YOU DO THIS??? QQitem 3070

This is a huge nerf. You can no longer barely clip someone who's escaping around a corner with an angled wall, to then E them because you can't see them with the wall, if your trinket is down -- and even if it's up, the wall distance is farther than the trinket. Walling and then slowly making your way around the corner to see them is not good because by then they will have flashed or used an ability to get over the wall... the point was you wall and E them in the half-second that they're disoriented/knocked.

This nerf just FEELS bad. If I'm not mistaken Anivia is the slowest immobile mage. She needs the vision. You guys already nerfed her in your mage rework earlier... leave her be. Taking the vision off Trundle's pillar is not as big of a deal for someone like Trundle but it's a HUGE NERF for Anivia. If you are going to nerf her with zero discussion or justification or requests from the community then at least give her a buff to compensate, but it would be easier to just revert this nonsense change.

They removed extraneous vision from a couple of terrain-creating abilities.

They removed it from two champions in patch 7.14. Those are trundle and anivia. They altered the range of the bush placement for te tree. They say they want to do check all abilities with this power, but why start with it now, when they did not planned it completly?

There's not exactly a lot of terrain-creating abilities.

True. I was not referring to terain creating abilities though, but vision granting abilities in general. The patchnotes refer to those as well, but only change them for 2,5 champions.

Indeed, why change 2 because they are terrain abilities while 100 other champs can check bushes with other abilities and they remain unchanged. Removing from Anivia and Trundle makes it so they have no way of checking bush unless you have a ward, yet http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Sight#Area-reveal

I mean if it's terrain, does Yorick's W count?

Because your vision should come from smart ward placement/vision control, not abilities. It's too safe to use a wall not only for vision but to block any attempt to engage on you. I approve & encourage FoW/vision being a very important part of LoL. Having vision control (or lack of) changes the way you play the game; how passive or aggressive you are in lane, how greedy you are for that kill or sneaking objectives.

True fow is a big part of the game and if riot don't want anivia wall to do so they can remove it, the problem is it changes how you use the ability previously you could use it to get knowledge on buffs or follow an assasins roam, now you can't, and riot effectively didn't announce the change or compensate the champion for it. It is in many ways equivalent to removing the knockback on Janna ult because they want it to be a heal and putting one line in bugfix.

nope. took them long enough to make it right.

If you guys remember correctly, Anivia's E not being proced on Q passing an enemy champion was also a "bug", which Riot has mentioned. With Anivia's Q bug being modified couple of months ago (or maybe even a year ago), I'm really doubtful on whether they'll fix anivia. They may just address it as a bug and leave it at that (unless maybe there's a riot lol)

This really messes me up.

I am still always trying to check dragon/baron/over walls with my wall.
