Suggestion: "Ward Spotted"-Ping

xKiwii··50 votes·1,616 views

If I play support, I often miss the option to tell my jungler where wards are placed by the enemies without writing it in chat. I have to look out for a safer place to chat and tell my team the position of their wards.

A much easier and efficient way of sharing this information to my team would be pinging. So for example: instead of writing it in chat, I could ping "Ward Spotted" through the smart ping wheel. Would be so much faster and i think it would be a nice addition to the whole Warding System.

How do you think about this idea? Would this ping be helpful to you?

If you like this idea, maybe think about upvoting it, so a Rioter can see and think about it too :)

Thanks for Reading and have fun in Ranked :)

In the mean time I suggest just doing "ward" and pinging. But yeh, a ward ping might be nice.

isn't it possible to ping your own trinket/sightstone and ping the spot?

Yes, but I normally do this to signal to my adc/support that I need/want a ping there. I will do something like a "danger" ping followed by a regular generic ping in that location just to signal something in that exact spot (as opposed to something in general).

I think you should be able to do this by holding the key you have assigned for wards. Thoughts?

That might cause you to accidentally drop a ward.

As a Support Main, I approve heavily. Especially if the enemy ward was just placed down in front of me lol.

I would like it too. Currently I just give a normal alert ping or regular ping and hope they aren't an idiot.

I think those red circles above wards are somehow related to this but I'm not sure...

We really need this because using a "be careful" ping doesn't help in reality.

I use the "Danger" ping. 20% of the time, it works every time.

can confirm! 100% of the time it works 1 of 5 times except when it doesn't which is never usually

We should also have a "ward here" ping

I think we need "Ward here" "Enemy Ward" "Enemy spotted" and "Recall" as pings also.

If we had one wheel with 8 possible pings on it (don't act like going to the corner would be that difficult, you can aim a damn skill shot, can't you?) then we would have endless possibilities:

"Enemy Spotted" + "Recall" = Enemy recalling here

"Enemy spotted" + "Enemy missing" nearby = Enemy was spotted moving here

"Danger" near your own champion + recall = I need to recall NOW

"Danger" near allied champion + recall = You need to recall NOW

"Enemy spotted" + Health % ping = Notice enemy health

"Assist" + "Enemy spotted" + Health % ping = Enemy health low: Intiate

"Danger" + "Enemy spotted" + Health % ping = Enemy health high: Retreat/caution

We can already do a lot of things like that, but having more pings opens up a lot more options than just those pings.

I think this would help a lot.
