Promoting vision and use of control wards through a charity event

Not many people buy control wards so i was trying to think of a way to promote buying/using them. I know riot can track how many control wards are bought by a player but i don't know if actually placing them can be tracked. I had this idea for an event about control wards.

Maybe Riot can donate money to a charity, based on how many control wards are bought/placed during a set time period. Let's say it's for 2 weeks. There can be missions about vision and maybe warding specific places/bushes, destroying enemy wards, using trinkets, or gaining vision by the use of skills.

About the donations, let's say the control wards that are bought per game are 20, riot can donate 1cent for 50 wards, or more, or less. I don't know, i have no knowledge of such statistics and i don't know how much would be a decent amount for a charity donation by riot but i got the idea and i thought it would be interesting to share it. That's all the thought i've put into it, not very detailed but it can be a start to something cool.
