If one of your laners leaves, and your jungler has to cover
not only are you A.Disadvantaged because its 4v5 B. Disadvantaged because enemy jungler gets two jungles to clear
but now thanks to Riot's top tier catering services, you're also disadvantaged by your jungler/psuedo-laner being starved of gold.
Great idea, because no one ever trolls or leaves in mid-low elo.
But it's okay because the top 1% got their way.
Honestly, balancing for a healthy 5v5 is a lot better than catering to games that are already lost (4v5). This just sounds like complaining for the sake of it. How exactly is 5v5 the 1 percent? That's... the majority of all games.
At that point I'd just sell 
or 
until they come back or until I can afford warrior/cinderhulk/runic echoes/bloodrazor, because if I'm completely incapable of trying to force feed one of my allies to the point where the AFK didn't matter, I'd just take their place in lane.
At least the buff doesn't activate unless I have the most farm in the game, or have finished my Tier 3 jungle item. Could be a lot worse, to be honest.
