Hybrid Itemization, and its absence in League.

This is my first post onto the discussion boards so bear with me here.

There are many champions in League of Legends that have hybrid ratios, but the support for building both types of damage is almost non existent when building pure AD or AP is superior. The only two items that do support hybrid builds item 3124 , anditem 3146 are some of the least seen items in the game. With the current rework of Mordekaiser, and Skarner as an example of only a couple on a long list of champions that use AD and AP, is there any chance that Riot would look into making these items more viable or even replacing them to give mixed ratio champions a new build path that would be as beneficial as building either one or the other? Not only for those two champions, but perhaps for other characters as well like Varus, Kog'Maw, or Akali etc.

You don't see unique builders like Hybrids because your Elo is too low. Possibly due to the fact that you think all hybrid builders have to use Rageblade and Gunblade, do you think everybody is the same? Sure those are useful items for hybrids but they are not the most important depending on the situation.

Those items are all but unseen in league bro. you need to know where to look is all.

Hybrid builds don't show up because you can't itemize for dual penetration outside of runes, and you can't efficiently get Rabaddon's and IE in the same build. item 3078 item 3146 item 3124 item 3089 item 3031 item 3046 This is something I've seen Akali and Jax build before, no one else. Void Staff and Last Whisper are usually out in these builds, but they deal both physical and magical damage and have high sustained damage potential, so it's up in the air.

I can see that being a problem, and even the opposite side of the coin building defense against hybrids being a problem. My thought process though is why have them at all, the items that is, if its only ever seen on 2 people, why not make them worth getting on others or getting rid of them all together. Or perhaps make a new item to compliment other pure AP and AD items in a hybrid build. Also the other person seemed to have misread my post I'm not saying they should build those in fact I'm saying the opposite.

You eventually have to ask, at what point is this just turning into a bunch of stats and conversions For hybrid builds to be useful gameplay, there needs to be a meaningful reason to build it that isn't just scaling.

What is the difference between AP and AD?

While I disagree, stat scaling would be a good reason to build a hybrid item (that's why we buy most items is for the stats) I do agree that having it just be a stat based change would be boring. Though my problem is the lack of support these items have due to their very narrow usage, why even have them at all if they are only for 2, maybe 3 champs?

Hrm I think all of the item 3057 items technically count as hybrid. As well item 3004 item 3115 item 3091 could possibly be pushed into there. The items aren't too efficient as Crett was saying, but for some champs like Diana Kayle Warwick it can work. Not too many champs benefit from dual scaling either, usually it's an AS ramp on their autos with a boosted modifier of some kind.

I used to build Kayle with a item 3006 item 3115 item 3124 start but it's been a long time since I played her.
