How about a skillshot based heal?

Do you think skillshot based heal would be a good idea? I was thinking of having it's potency increase the longer it travels. Think of Nidalee spear, but instead of damage its healing. I think it is a really good way to balance healing in LoL, since Riot said themselves that healing, as odd as it might sound, is an unhealthy mechanic.

Heals that have a chance to miss are not very favorable in any game really. You don't even have it in mmo's such as WoW. Damage is usually something that you have to deal with missing but having a heal miss is a much bigger deal. Still I'm not saying it couldn't work at all

There are infinite ways to balance it, you can simply make it wider, fly faster or slower.

It's not about balance, it's about hating life when your allies instinctively work to dodge it because they mix up the particle with all the damage spells they're trying to avoid.

If it's possible to miss then you will have a massive frustrating disparity between team mates that accidentally dodge it in the heat of the moment, completely invalidating your cooldown and mana spent, and team mates who know it's beneficial and get hit with it every time it's necessary. The heal values need to be balanced around the high end for competitive play meaning that the low end will suffer much weaker values. The only way to fix this would be to make the hitbox is so big it would be impossible to miss, at which point there's no reason to make it a skillshot over a targeted ability or AoE.

Truth be told, players at lower ELO will mix it up, but as a Silver 5 support main, i don't think me or people i play with would have problem with making distinction between skillshots. It just seems so easy to learn.

Then you've never tried playing Lux.

Did you just say "people at lower elo" and then say yourself at silver 5 was fine?

Mate that's still low elo

My point was, that players even at my Elo will learn quickly that the skillshot heals

Hi. I voted no.

A skillshot heal is almost pointless as your allies would try to not dodge.

It would never feel good when you hit it and always feel bad if you miss.

If you think about it, Lux's shield is sort of like it, but the mechanic overall is not really needed in the game. Allies could always accidentally dodge it or other crap could happen.
