A petition to add old Aatrox back to the game as a separate champion
I mean the rework is great but the old Aatrox was pretty fun and different so it would be nice to have an option to play each of them. (I claim BAtrox as the name)

Play Jax or Master Yi or Tryndamere, they're basically the same, brain dead auto-attack stat checkers old Aatrox was.
I didn't know those champions had 2 skillshots and 400 attack range while melee.
You mean the skillshots that tons of players had an easy time dodging them, and 400 range doesn't mean jack-shit when he can get constantly CC'ed & kited?
I'm not sure how that disproves him having a different playstyle, but if he was so shitty then how could he keep a 51%+ winrate for a year?
Because his 51% winrate didn't mean jack-shit when he had basically close to no one playing him.
What does being unpopular have to do with having a different playstyle?
I meant what does 51% winrate even mean when only 10 people out of 1 million players plays him? That winrate's not gonna mean anything.
What does that have to do with a different playstyle of having 400 attack range as a melee, stances based around trade-offs, and having two skillshots?
Means people learned that those "special playstyle" are easy to evade & isn't a hindrance to fight against, hence why people didn't bothered playing him? Jeez, get some sense...
more than 10 people played him.
Believe it or not everything. If someone watches faker in the Lcs or watches a guy play AP Nasus, you think others aren't going to copy him?
If his kit was so busted, why wouldnt more people have been playing him?
Read every of my comment before you comment please, thanks.
Yeah, I DID. My question still stands.
Then you must have a seriously questionable English comprehension.
Nice try. Just answer my question if you even can.
I never said old Aatrox's kit was strong at all. I literally said in my last comment to AirKingNeo that his "special playstyle" kit was easy enough to evade & fight against, hence why almost no one plays him, and results in Aatrox having small to no playrate, which also explains the false "high 51% winrate".
Why would you even think people would like to play him with that kind of ridiculous kit...? I also don't know what you meant with your "nice try" commentary when you averted my comment content in a totally opposite manner, as if you're saying that Aatrox's kit is so crap that it makes people...."like" playing him?
Gee, and here I thought old Aatrox was an autoattacker, but you seem to be implying that he somehow deals most of his abilities via ability. Has he secretly been an AD caster all this time? Had the world been playing him wrong all these years? Was he not, in fact, an auto-attack champion?
What's wrong with being an auto attacker?
You're also strawmanning my argument by turning it into "auto attacker" rather than knowing how he achieves auto attacking.

Nothing is wrong with being an auto-attacker, except that champions like Aatrox and Tryndamere and Yi are feast or famine with next to no skill expression at all. Aatrox was either in combat, trying to hack people to death, or not. His two abilities aided him into to getting into combat or getting out of combat, they didn't actually show any expression of skill. The only outplay potential he had was either being out of melee range against him or having enough stats to survive his attacks and kill him first. He was a stat checking fighter with little interactivity and little skill execution aside from basic game knowledge any champion requires such as when to go into a fight and when to avoid one.
And also, I didn't straw man your argument. You claimed he somehow did more than auto-attack because he had 2 skill shots in his kit. His skill shots were tools to get him into auto-attack range or out of it, and nothing more. His primary method of dealing damage and functioning as a champion is auto-attacking enemies, not using skills like an AD casters such as Talon or Zed.
Why are you guys compaining and down voting him? We have a lot of adcs btw, adc's are even easier cuz of thier range.
Jax is a point and click champion that unlike, Aatrox, has a jump that can't be stopped. Significant bonus magic damage, built in resistances (THAT SCALE OFF OF AD) and a way to stop incoming damage. That is why Jax always was a better champ in most situations.
Aatrox was reworked for a reason. I know his playstyle changed significantly, but that was the entire point of his rework: to remove a toxic and unbalanceable playstyle.
It's not going to be returning.
His playstyle was balanceable. You had 2 skillshots and a stat boost that was conditional. That's the same as the reworked Irelia.
That changes what exactly?
Was he or was he not a stat check drain tank that either won or lost dependent on whether he healed enough or not?
If he got enough healing out, then he was unstoppable that beat any comers on him as he healed through all their damage while dishing out the same.
If he didn't, then he was utterly useless as a champion, with next to no CC, and no fallback pattern.
A)he wasnt a tank. If he built too much tank he took forevever to actually kill anyone
B)All fed champions stat check.
fed is unstoppable. Fed
are far more annoying to shut down, since one gets to be invincible and the other can CC and do high damage to groups of enemy champions.
C)his healing was contingent on being able to auto attack. He actually had fairly poor chase, and any CC shuts his strength down.
He was fine. You are just repeating the BS that has been circulating on these boards for years about him.
A) A "drain tank" is not the same thing as a tank. A drain tank is a a damage champion that invalidates your damage with healing while also dishing out damage.
B) But all of those champions have some fall back pattern. A Cho'Gath who's behind still is a CC and objective control monster. A behind Yasuo still has utility from Windwall and his CC. A behind Tryndamere is still a great split pusher because he can literally not die and get away. Old Aatrox didn't have those things.
C) And him not being able to heal if he can't auto attack changes what exactly? The same thing could be said for both Tryndamere and Yasuo. That's not an excuse.
A) Aatrox only in validates your damage if he can auto attack. Any CC fucks him, hard. Any burst damage that does more damage than he can heal up, also ends up such as
Alpha strike, invalidates CC and burst damage WHILE doing damage. That is way worse, harder to counter, and yet people like you don't seem to care about mechanics like that.
B)Yes, that is one area his old kit needed addressing
C)No, the same couldn't be said about them. When Aatrox cant heal, you have taken away his power. When other champions can't heal, whos play styled ISNT BASED ON HEALING, you have merely taken away their ability to do damage, which they do much more of than Aatrox does, such as Yas or Trynd. Completely different. Aatrox healing and revive is why his damage output, and items he syncs with, are much lower than other AD champions.
😯..........wait a second......Riot actually know something about Aatrox, I'm shocked. Ok. Ok. 👏👏👏👏👏 But the fact still remains, that the rework you gave Aatrox wasn't because you cared about him. It was to cover up a mystake you created and that feels cold. Im making this accusation because of how akalies rework turned out, you can see from her design standpoint that nothing about her previous kit was hated. You both managed to Balence her, keep players 50/50 on whether she o.p or Balenced. And she's usefully at all stages of the game. I feel like if a champion is not reworked with a grain of salt during the development stages. Maybe players won't be disappointed
First: I'm not a Rioter.
Second: Akali's rework is able to keep mostly the same playstyle because her rework wasn't to fix said playstyle. It was to fix thematic and gameplay health. Aatrox's was entirely to remove his old playstyle. In fact at first, all his update was going to be was a pure gameplay with only some minor visual changes for new abilities.
I would of loved that, but then the Swain rework interupted
His old playstyle was not balancable at all. That's why he virtually lived in the gutter since his release..
until he got a mini rework and was above a 51% winrate for over a year.
Plus what you said doesn't disprove me at all nor prove he was "not balanceable". All you said is that people gave up on trying to balance him.

They gave up on trying to balance him because he was basically a see-saw. When they did one thing, he tipped one direction and became severely OP. If they did other things, he tipped the other way and became horribly invalid. He was the epitome of a feast or famine champion, and balancing did nothing but continue to tip him one way or the other.
Thats because Riot, to this day, still don't understand what his real problems were. I explained it to them many times on here, but they didn't pay attention.
According to who? People thought the idea of FedEx was literally impossible until it was done. Fuck off with your limited beliefs.

Here's a thought - a pretty simple one - Aatrox was released in 2013. Don't you think, in the 5 years up to his VGU this year, that if they could have balanced him with his old kit, they would have? I know this is mind blowing material here, but 5 years is a LONG ASS TIME to go with a "balancable" kit that was never balanced.
They gave the mini rework to ricklesabandon, a guy who never played the champion. Over those 5 years, Riot has often failed hard with reworks and release champions that basically are boring and suck. So no, I don't credit Riot with anything. They could have fixed him but they didn't have the creativity, talent or will to do so. One reason is that they never actually understood what the problems with Aatrox were. That was evident by that stupid mini rework.
Thier talking about the percent missing health heal
yeah a missing hp heals means you can't heal to full as easily and instead it's only most effective at low HP, where you're vulnerable
let's not forget you're melee and having to forcibly attack the wave is a huge downside while being melee
Ok. Ok I hear you, riot did a 67% good on the rework. But what your failing to realise is that RIOT KNOWS HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT AATROX. And they've deemed Aatrox as too strong.
When riot says rework they meen •Makes him less overpowered, and killable than he used to be •A.k.a sneaky indirect nerfed down version of the previous champ. They can't take any heat from the community because the community never knew what better ideas the had for them in the development stages.
✌️✌️"it's not necessary the same champ" So the company gets away with it anytime they screw up on a rework
When us Aatrox mains mean rework we meant •allowing Aatrox to actually be able to fight with his targets because this meta is way too high mobility • allow him to fight with his counters • stop him from being easily killed • stop people from waiting out his revive passive (thus why it's his ult now, which is btw the best part of his rework next to his q being able to be used 3 times)
All I gotta say is that if you really love Aatrox like I do. Lore, personality, what he stands for. Then you'll adapt and learn to love him. Because before Aatrox had big trouble reeling in his meals, and now I'm happy to say. Aatrox can now reach his targets
No. If you really loved Aatrox, you would have some self respect and not touch the new Aatrox. I play Olaf now.
If I ever am able to acquire Riot games, he will be returning and a lot of people are going to get fired.
