With auto fill permanently activated, can queuing up as Support only be an option?

I've been queuing for Support and still get at least a full minute wait. Is the player base just down in general?

I doubt it. It depends on your MMR and what time you're queuing at for the most part. Like Sailor Mint said, it's also because more people are getting autofilled into support.

Support Primary should be back to getting it almost all the time in the next matchmaking update.

Just FYI, we're trying to make it so that if you're a primary support main, you'll pretty much always get support. There's some randomness to the system, but you [insert support main], you unicorn you, we need you to play support. Autofilling you into something else is suboptimal for everyone (will try to get it into the next ranked queue patch)

The reason why you had instant queues was because there were potentially dozens of games looking for supports at any given point. Autofill means less games get "stuck" looking for a Support.

End result:

Significantly lower queue times for non-supports.,
Slightly longer queue times for Support players
Odds of getting Support as Secondary is down.

Law of large numbers is probably screwing with me right now, but this one is hitting pretty hard these last few days. I traditionally queue support secondary and get it about (ballpark estimate) 70% of the time. In the last few days, I've gotten Mid about 70%. Hell I just broke a 6-game streak of mid today. First time I have EVER seen the "role protect" thing disappear.

Scary times.

I believe they thought they needed to do this because there is an extra type of queue right now. Before, there were 3. Now there is both solo/duo and flex, along with blind/draft.
