Im tired of people pretending that Garen is ok because he's "immobile."

Darius, Illaoi, and Urgot are immobile. Garen is NOT. Have you ever tried to chase a Garen before? Have you ever tried running from a Garen as an ACTUAL immobile champion? The odds are usually in his favor in both scenarios. My complaint with Garen isn't that he simply does too much damage despite being tanky, it's that he's also, IN SPITE OF WHAT PEOPLE CLAIM, very mobile. I'm a player that's okay with Darius, Illaoi, and every other Juggernaut(Except Sett because of his passive regen), so this makes it clear that my issue with Garen is that he has more than tankiness + DMG.

For anyone who doesn't consider Garen to be mobile, just take these facts into consideration. Here's why even a Fizz/Ekko can't successfully chase down a Garen.

Garen with tier 2 boots, Tri-force, and Phantom Dancer has 500 MS for 3.5 seconds, then 422 MS during down time. For reference, melees generally have 385 movespeed with tier 2 boots, so Garen has an additional 115 MS when Q is up and an additional 37 MS when Q is down. Each point of movement speed means a champion moves that many units per second, therefore Garen moves an additional 115 units every second. 115*3.5 = 402, then as Garen waits for his next Q, he still has his additional 37 MS for 7.4(6.4 Q CD + 1 second timeout) seconds. 37x7.4= 273. In 10 seconds, Garen moves an additional 675 units. In 13.5 seconds he moves an additional 1,077 units.

Putting this into context, if an Ekko procced his passive on a Garen and ran away, Garen would catch up in 12 seconds and one shot Ekko anyway.

How do you kite? By CC-ing or being faster. 1. You're not faster than Garen. and 2. Garen scoffs off CC due to innate tenacity. garen is not immobile

and Ekko has dashes + a W that would be perfect for this scenario

The point is , Garen is not immobile but a the same time he lacks of explosive mobility: Jumps, Dash , Flash, Teleports . That s why he is considered a Walking Rock Xd

Garen is not op at all. There are way more broken champs than Garen right now. He can't even scale properly.

Well of course to an immobile champion, he is too mobile. But all you need is even the slightest bit of mobility and range and kiting Garen is easy.

a 30% movement speed buff for 4 seconds on a 9 to 5 second cooldown (with 40% cdr).

he is not even fast for a juggernaut. udyr and shyvana are faster for example.

darius has a higher base movement speed and his hook and more range on his q than garen has on his abilities which makes it easier to trigger rage passives and keep them active with his bleed for longer.

illaoi is slower but has longer range and can hook spirits over walls.

He's one of the champs that will run you down how is he immobile?

If Garen can run you down, Nasus can do it much faster and more effectively.

I mean you have characters like Ekko and Sylas who can chain a dash with item 3152 and practically jump at your from off the screen. Garen's mobility compared to that is like nothing. Garen is easy to kite because you can easily see him coming, but of course if you put Garen in an empty arena with an immobile champion he'd run them down...but the game isn't balanced around 1v1 scenarios. If you're an immobile champion then avoid Garen and sit in the back of your team the same way you've avoid any enemy threat.
