Player named bots in game?

So I just played a game with a friend and we got this player who instalocked and only auto attacked the entire game. I mean after 25 minutes, he had 10 CS as Xerath. He never used any abilities and had a wacky build. I've also experienced games where there are a bunch of players like this who just kinda walk around like zombies.. get hit a bunch of times until they are low health and walk away until they die. So did Riot put in player bots? If that is true, why are they trying to ruin the game for the team like that? Also, I just looked up the guy we played with and his builds are all the same on repeated champions as well as the fact that a lot of games he went 25 minutes without a kill, death, or assist. Please respond with comments on why you think Riot does this and if you agree with it.

It's not Riot it's random people that create those to sell lvl 30 accounts to players. Yes there's lots of them for Riot to ban and they do, but the players just make more. Report them after the game for cheating/use of 3rd party programs and move on I guess.

I doubt it'd be bots from Riot. What you say makes sense in that it wouldn't do the game any good. It makes little sense for them to put bots in games that are clearly not intended for bots. Furthermore, the bots usually have fairly logical builds on their respective champions and the fact that your player had a wacky build suggests that it wasn't a Riot bot.

What the LostFrost said makes some sense and could be the reality. They could also be completely new to the game. Either or. That said, the instalock does make me suspect that it's more like a level 30 generator.

Riot isn't running bot accounts. Furthermore bots are not known for logical builds. A lot of times they'll run repeat items.

I still don't understand then I guess.. Is it a third party running the account? That just gets in games and clicks around?

Indeed that's the case. They are just moving to avoid the afk penalty so that they get exp and ip for the game. They usually won't put more than 2-3 per game since it may be too hard for the humans to carry them (more ip for win). It's super annoying to have them in a game.
