Akali Nerf

Please discuss the Akali nerf; I don't think you needed to nerf her passive. Her win rate is already one of the lowest in the game. This seems like a very significant damage loss, especially considering her entire kit is built around constantly proccing her passive. And the energy hit is just rubbing salt in the wound. There are so many other broken champs you could nerf.

She is the most snowbally assassin in teh game rn, and her top lane is actually too strong, since most top lane champs rely on aa's she can avoid a large amount of their dmg with just shroud and get fed, once she's fed it doesn't matter how tanky you are, she WILL one shot you

No she's not, she sucks. They have nerfed her to the ground, I don't even play that trash anymore. the only thing left is to remove one of her skills so she has only 3. Riot just revert her so I can go back to noob stomping in silver.

yeah I've seen that, I just hate top, it's so boring and I feel like when I play top, my mid feeds their ass off and then the enemy lux/veigar/zed just kills everyone....but maybe I'll try it again....the only top I don't like playing against is darius...aoe damage and his pull and bleed suck to play against.

I'm not saying the nerf wasn't justified or whatever, I'm not getting into it because she's getting pretty significant changes in a patch or two anyway, so it doesn't matter.

However, saying she's the Assassin that snowballs the strongest in the game is simply untrue, in every ELO except GM+ almost every assassin can snowball easier than Akali can. She is incredibly safe when played well, but she can't one shot tanks, even if she's fed. Obviously there are exceptions, but if the tank knows what theyre doing she won't "oneshot" but she can duel them pretty well, as she has a lot of consistent damage.

TLDR:

Other than the fact that she can avoid a good deal of damage, most of what you said is wrong.

Before MSI Akali was ripping apart Vlad in matches left and right. I know you said except elos GM+ but that's where the balancing should be concern on. If the best are struggling against her then she needs to be nerfed. Though I do agree that nerfing her passive is stupid she performs way too well at the highest elo and I understand the thought of nerfing her just not her passive or at least not by this much.

I had to reread your comment as most of it has nothing to do with what I said and I was confused with why you were replying to me specifically, but I'll do my best to reply well anyway.

Vlad vs. Akali is a skill matchup, better player wins, even now.

That grandmaster+ comment wasn't about balancing, it was about her snowball potential. Outside of grandmaster+, where Akali is truly strong, she doesn't snowball as easily when compared to other assassins. I'm not exaggerating when I say that every assassin is easier than Akali right now, except maybe Kat, still talking about below grandmaster btw.

As I stated at the beginning of my comment, I never really wanted to get into whether she deserved to be nerfed or not, but since you brought it up: Imo they needed to bridge the incredible gap between her being so problematic in high elo, while being really bad in solo queue, not simply buff or nerf her. Which is what they are trying to do with the upcoming changes, which is great.

Again I never said anything about nerfing her passive, I'm pretty impartial to the change. I believe they nerfed her passive the deal with how she's a better skirmisher than an assassin, but they nerfed her skirmisher half without buffing her assassin half, making her just not great at either. Looking forward to these changes, hopefully they push her into being a balanceable assassin instead of an unbalanceable skirmisher.

Akali has changes incoming, likely going into patch 9.14. The current (tentative) changes are detailed here:

https://twitter.com/RiotRepertoir/status/1141029575750631424

What they're going for is removing some of the mechanics that make her extremely powerful in pro play (AoE stun, long-duration shroud), and buffing the things that make her fun an accessible to everybody (higher damage, shorter shroud cooldown, faster R2 recast).

They're increasing her energy costs, but also improving her energy regen. Her passive gives 20 energy at all levels, and her shroud gives 100 energy at all ranks. Her trading pattern of Q-auto-Q-auto is still intact, and does well over double the damage she's doing now early on. Her E also does a lot more damage, and her shroud has a lower cooldown early, but a longer cooldown late.

Changing her ult to a single-target cast makes it so that she can't use it to escape and only stuns one enemy, but she will also now vault 300 units past her target, lining up a perfect Q into a passive proc, with only a 1-second delay before the R2 recast.

With these changes, Akali will be far less oppressive, while also being stronger and more fun.

The champion isn’t balanceable.

Her kit is the problem and the only solution is to flat out rip shit out of it.

Who would have guessed every ability doing 16 things was op.
