is there anything wrong with just playing normals?

all of my experiences in ranked so far have just been awful and i only really enjoy normals it seems, is there any reason i should give ranked another try?

only reason to play is if you want a nice icon for whatever rank you wanna be otherwise i dont really see a difference.

I'm Unranked, played the game since 2015. I'm not here to stroke my own ego with how good (or bad) I am at the game, I'm not going to be a pro. I'm here to have fun. Currently that's mainly ARAM however, as the new season put my off my lanes. I'll go back one day.

don't do ranked. there is no reward worth the hassle and trouble to climb through a cesspool of toxic players.

Depends on what you play, but as a onetrick of a very offmeta pick I find Ranked has much less toxicity, due to people not wanting to sabotage their own wins. I see you there with literally no match history, ya smurf.

Ranked isn't fun, I've been around since season 1 and been gold + since season 3 for the skins, but 99.9% of my time is spent in normals. Ranked just isn't fun or satisfying, it's as simple as that, in season 3 I had an afk on my team 14 games in a row and that was when I realized the mode fucking blows.

Now I will say that unfortunately there's a tradeoff: I haven't had a queue time under 5 minutes for like a month and it regularly goes over 10 minutes. I'm guessing that's because people are grinding since ranked just came out, but it really sucks and I feel forced to play ranked as a result just so I'm not waiting forever.

There's no real reason to play ranked. I play it, but only because the matchmaking seems to be more balanced imo, and I like seeing how much I've improved. I don't care about my rank, but it's nice to go "Hey, I'm a higher rank than I was last year, I guess I've improved a little bit since then"

The amazing thing about ranked is that if you play it(or don't), you'll probably get flamed for it in other game modes anyway. I can honestly say that attempting to play ranked was probably the worst mistake I've ever made while playing League because I placed Bronze I and never really went back to get any higher. I get rank shamed frequently, especially in ARAM for some reason, but tbh it wasn't really any better when I was unranked.

The only real reason I want to climb in ranked is the off chance that Jhin might someday get a Victorious skin, and I'd hate to miss out on it. Other than those skins, I see no real reason to play ranked except I guess bragging rights and shiny flairs for your account.

I'm also pretty sure I'm required to have a rank to stay in the club I'm in, so.
