Is this game supposed to be fun? Cause it doesn't play fun, like at all

At most this seems like a glorified time-sink with 0 satisfaction for any form of effort because you either:

A: Get lucky and get the busted S-Tier champs on your side, steamrolling the enemy with 0 effort thanks to your overbearing stats and easy to land "combos" that 90% of the time consist solely of point and click damage or impossible to miss AOEs.

or

B: Get stuck with lower tier champions and get utterly shafted due to being completely outclassed in terms of stats, not skill mind you, just raw power packed into the enemy's champions.

How can anyone actually enjoy this kind of thing? Hell the top tier players all seem to hate how the game is, though to be fair I think I'd hate only being able to make money off playing the EXACT SAME GAME with the EXACT SAME CHAMPIONS over and over and over again ad-nauseam with little if any variance since the only way these people seem to be able to even maintain their status is by abusing these top tier picks.

In my opinion the game is very well balanced, and counterplay is present in every champions kit (save reworked akali- whoever made that champ...)

But in regards to having no defining chance, I completely disagree. EVERY small thing you do in THE WHOLE GAME sways the game for or against you. Once you realize that, you have SO much control over the game- Its why people who are diamond can constantly climb to the highest ranks on new accounts- the game IS fair.

Based on what? What counterplay do you have against Riven top, Yasuo Mid, Elise JG, Vayne ADC, and Lux Support if your team picks... I dunno.. Mundo top, Quinn JG, Malphite Mid, Ziggs ADC and Yuumi support?
