GP was disabled due to Draven Glitch

To all those shitting themselves, GP wasn't disabled because he died. He was disabled because Allied Dravens could attack his barrels without killing them and refresh his axes.

I keep telling people that it was just a joke... and probably covering for a bug. Riot didn't spend all that time and effort reworking and changing his visuals to delete the guy. The number of people on this forum who have no idea how to take a joke is too damned high.

Draven refreshing his axes really doesn't seem like the sort of game-breaking bug they'd disable a champion for.

It especially doesn't seem like the sort of bug that they'd disable a champion for, and then lie about and claim there was no bug when questioned.

This is not true. Gangplank was disabled to keep true to the lore. You all asked for it, and Riot delivered. Go check out the new Miss Fortune lore!

I always knew Gangplank support was viable!

Pretty much any passive worked on them; I was Warwick and could get infinite health from his barrels

Haha, so Riot disabled GP due to game breaking bugs, then put a cute little message in the disabled window and all these lore hungry fans dove all over it and praised Riot for letting lore drive the game again.

Well played, Riot. Well played.

How much time does it take to put in code that simply makes it so friendly GP barrels appear as friendly minions would?

There's probably something else to it.

Honestly, Riot saying that they disabled Gangplank because he died makes me really question the professionalism of them all. Like, seriously.

That's some next-level trolling.

So, that's what it was all about. I always thought having champions disabled without context was really irritating, why do I have to do my own research to find the reason Riot's disabled X champion every single time.

Are we supposed to even be able to attack allied Gangplank barrels?

I was Alistar and I could auto one forever

Rinky Dinky7/30/2015, 9:30:38 PM1 votes

Riot has confirmed he was going to be disabled either way.

It's smart work, it allows the lore team to hint at past, present or future story based on the character if there is ever a bug that needs disabling.

Dedrius7/30/2015, 3:56:04 PM1 votes

Draven could also stack his passive on the barrels by AAing them

Silents4297/30/2015, 3:57:51 PM1 votes

That's not even close to a gamebreaking bug.
