Is LeaveBuster Really Necessary?

When you leave a game, is it really necessary to have to deal with LeaveBuster? I know some people might find that it is necessary to have it because if you were gonna leave a game, why would you join it in the first place, right? But heres the thing, some people who are already in the game have to deal with something in real life that requires them to leave the game. So if you have to run out and do an errand that requires you to leave the game, why should you have to worry about being punished for doing something you had to do in real life?
