This is URF now...?
Having played some URF games recently, I honestly have found them to have lost their essence and focus on fun. Even with the capability of banning certain (obviously) broken heroes for URF, some will still slide through. The percentage of players picking heroes for the purpose of 'quick win' rather than 'fun' has skyrocketed. After having not touched URF this time around from the high levels of unfun I experienced the last round, I finally gave in and decided to try just 1 game and I honestly regretted it.
I just played an URF game, not 5 mins ago, where we banned Zed, Kassadin, Sona, and other knowns for obvious reasons, but sadly others still got through. My game consisted of, and I am not making this up, but a 2 heroes mirrored on each team: Ahri and Katarina. Other than that, and not to my surprise, there was an enemy Xin which seems to be some new fad going around of "pick xin and push for a quick win, gg". I mean he isnt even fun....
It is obvious at this point that URF is -not- being used for the crazy fun it was meant to be but rather those, I admit low self-esteemed, players out there are rushing at URF to pick exceedingly strong heroes for the purpose of a quick win and claim of a prize. This has become much much more apparent with the introduction of the new prize system.
URF has all but become toxic and unfun and I doubt I will ever be playing it again.
