10 Games of ranked... 4 Leavers

So, first day of placements! I was extremely excited to play. I played 10 games, 4 of them had leavers. I don't ever remember this happening other years. Any ideas?

why does leavers determine your LP? i mean if your match is a instant loss for the most part why should you be placed in iron or bronze due to those players?
