I play garen mid and 9/10 I carry and that's no bold statement, and that 1 out of god knows how many games I do bad people start crying, I understand the lol community logic and then when they all curse at me and tell me to afk and I listen to them they ask people in all chat to report me for afk. Any champ can have a bad game can they not? last time I checked meta wasn't even a rule.

If you're doing something like Garen mid, something people never see anywhere, they're going to assume you're a troll right off the start. If you have a bad game, they're attributing it to you trolling rather than you sucking that game. People don't like trolls - it's much worse to lose because you got someone on your team who had pre decided to lose that game, rather than because someone on your team had a bad game. Even though you aren't trolling, there's no way to make them know you win a lot with Garen mid (I'm not even going to bother checking if you actually do "carry 9 of 10")

ShuffledPancake1 votesAh but they are meta bcz the meta champs do better against non meta champs, you would only pick a non meta against a non meta (Ranked) OR if they are a super heavy counter.. like a vayne/kalista vs a trunde top.. that would make sense but they are both meta, while trundle isnt.

Yes, if you do something silly, despite their warning/protest and lose, they have the rights to get mad. Imagine you have a friend staying over and you specifically tell him NOT to touch the sink and yet he does it anyway and make a mess, are you not mad?

People would usually get upset when you did bad in game, but they would still be upset on an odd champ or not. So just ignore it and move on.
Also reason garen is not good mid is range aka mages usually can out poke garen so it can hurt his early game and his late game is weak as it is and usually you might need an ap in your game and mid lane is the safest for most ap carries to scale.
In the end you can go garen mid, but you are hurting your self and the team
My odd pick is wukong support, I would win lane 100%, but I stop because even if we lost game it was still my fault. I'll accept 90% as a traditional support
