Soraka Buff Idea

I main Soraka, Her latest rework took a while to get used to but I mastered it. Here are a few issues that I have with her.

  1. Passive: I love it. However, after clutch healing a champion. I no longer have a speed boost to escape. Since her heal has such a short range, I'm in the middle of the fray making healing something I'd rather not do when an ally really needs it depending on his position in team fights.
  2. Starcall: I'm sure I'm not the only one to bring this up but the mana cost is very high. But it's only an issue because of the heal needs mana & health. Again making healing less desirable.
  3. Astral Blessing: I love the spell but it takes away too much health. It depends on starcall (which is a very high mana burner) You want to avoid using it as much as possible but you are constantly put in the predicament and forced to use it in order to sustain.
  4. Equinox: It's amazing in team fights and if used properly a game changer. But it's very easily avoided. And also burns mana.
  5. Her ult is very good and game changing as well.

I know what would make all these issues worth picking her and healing with her. Give her W heal a buff to the champion she heals. Let it apply a temporary mana regen buff that can stack every time you heal with W. Making the high risk worth it.

Her ult cdr on lvl 1 too long, 160 sec shld be reduced to 140/130/120 instead of 160/130/120 and she shld only lose 5% hp when healing a champ with heal debuff thoes my ideas for buffing.

IMO if she got a better passive which somehow let her trade mana for HP, or just.. any way to restore health which isn't reliant on enemy champions not dodging your skillshot. Then she would be completely fine.

Alternatively they could lessen the health cost, or just.. nix it entirely in favour of heavy mana costs.

Her Q costs ought to get better with the upcoming mastery changes giving supports better mana regen at least.

Also main the banambulance. She's perfectly fine how she is.

  1. if you're in the middle of their team, chances are you screwed up and chased a heal like a garen would chase a kill, got grabbed, or the like. That passive gets you in range to land the heal, now it's their job to use the healing to fight their way out for both of you.

  2. are you starting spellthif and harassing? because yes, that will drain your mana most of the time. rush a chalice if you're dominating the lane, rush a sightstone or cool your jets if the enemy is avoiding well or shrugging it off. Starcall is easy to land in skirmishes or teamfights for huge self healing to continue. one or two is plenty.

  3. too much health cost? You're one of those people that build warmogs aren't you? Look, build any decently big AP item. Zhonyas is a good option. there, now your heal does huge healing and the cost is less than the return of one Q from one target. health stacking is well known to be a poor choice on the reworked raka.

  4. are you casting equinox on cooldown for an easy double spellthief proc? because that's the only reason I can think of to complain about the mana cost. Again, get a chalice. As for easily avoided, you aren't usually trying to hit the snare, you're trying to interrupt a combo with the silence. Soraka is all about saving allies, play sona if you want to be a direct threat.

  5. This...does not appear to be an issue. why is it in a list of issues?

I have a 60%+ win rate on Soraka. the current version is quite strong but relies on good self positioning as much, or even more so than, your own ADC. use your spells wisely, you won't get much from spamming anything but heal, and even that is only in tense spots. Aim Q in a genereal teamfight direction, and look for assassins, mages, or burst fighters who rely heavily on spell combos to kill or live, and disrupt them. Sooner or later you just kinda win.

I think her W needs a slight (key word slight) HP scaling on her heal. At least that way, she wouldn't be completely screwed over by building health.

Exactly! I feel like you worded things better than I have. I'm pretty skillful with her and most of the time I have no issue with her. But I do feel like something is missing. I do think her passive should be different. Running to someone who is dying is cool and all but most of the time (even with high run speed and passive active) it's either too late or I use my ult. Not saying it isn't useful. Lol, Maybe she should get a speed boost when SHE is low health rather than an ally lol.
