These Yasuo posts are getting quite tiresome. The annoying thing is that people aren't playing Yasuo because he's overpowered; they are playing him because they genuinely enjoy his character. His rework isn't going to hurt his popularity at all, so he's still very likely to have a high pick rate. Then you will have people complaining about him in one way or another because he's so popular. This is never going to end.
this is all coming from someone that hates Yasuo with a passion
That's only half the problem. He may a joy to play for a small group of players, but for the rest of the players he's both a pain to have on your team as well as against your team. You let him through the ranked and then you have the man-boy-child who is crying for ganks and how the rest of his team sucks. On the other hand, you let him through the banning process and a platinum+ smurf grabs him and facerolls your team.
However, I am not quite as pessimistic - I think you could easily tinker with the "double shield" and still not alter his playability. A Windwall that blocks 90% of all attacks (which is very frustrating) plus a second shield in the form of his passive that usually means that it takes two people to take down a Yas are both targets that could be looked at by the devs.
I am still unsure how to deal with the "minion problem" though. Yas is the only champ that I can think of which really uses your own minions against you in a direct manner that can literally lead to you being dived under your own tower.
