What's up with the XP counter / The way XP is earned?

Alright, I just got out of a game in which I was Support, and I had a ADC. Our lane was going VS an and a , and we were all doing great. A couple of levels later, my ADC has more CS than the enemy, and we Manage to score 1st blood on Dat Ashe, followed by a double kill on the soraka. I recalled, and by the time I got back, Soraka was level 6, Ashe was 7, and my Cait was 8.... I was only lvl 5 and still needed about 60% to reach 6*[zombie-brand-clap]* .

So my question is... HOW?!!!! My ADC still had mroe CS than the enemy, and I was 0/0/2 and raka was 0/1/0, why was she higher level than me? and why was I so behind?! That was some next lvl BS if you ask me.[slayer-jinx-unamused]

it only matters when minions die near you (not how many you kill) for exp you backed so you lost exp on all the minions that died while you were gone so your cait got solo exp (so 50% more exp) if you dont shove wave after your kills against your enemies they dont actually lose out on much exp

Not really, other than going to wards river/tribush, or to drop a ward in their JG I was never not with my ADC, specially since we were going VS a healer and as Ivern I have nor protection that healing from a support kind of view. The only time I fully backed was after that double kill since I get to get a sightstone. And I know that distance tot he dying enemy affects if you get Xp or not, but the enemy soraka and ashe, would also randomly dissapear and take forever to get back to lane. I could understand that Ashe was a higher level, but Soraka being a high level than I when I was around more and we had 2 kills under our belts makes nooooo sense to me :/

And if the XP is counted different for Ivern due to him meant to be a JG mainly, then that's BS because it would mean that in order to stay au pair with my team's level i'd have to take JG camps, putting our JG behind. Also, my srarting item was the item 3302 so I was also getting the last hit on cannon minions to share XP and gold with my ADC/
