What's up with the XP counter / The way XP is earned?

Alright, I just got out of a game in which I was Ivern Support, and I had a Caitlyn ADC. Our lane was going VS anAshe and a Soraka , and we were all doing great. A couple of levels later, my ADC has more CS than the enemy, and we Manage to score 1st blood on Dat Ashe, followed by a double kill on the soraka. I recalled, and by the time I got back, Soraka was level 6, Ashe was 7, and my Cait was 8.... I was only lvl 5 and still needed about 60% to reach 6*[zombie-brand-clap]* .

So my question is... HOW?!!!! My ADC still had mroe CS than the enemy, and I was 0/0/2 and raka was 0/1/0, why was she higher level than me? and why was I so behind?! That was some next lvl BS if you ask me.[slayer-jinx-unamused]

it only matters when minions die near you (not how many you kill) for exp you backed so you lost exp on all the minions that died while you were gone so your cait got solo exp (so 50% more exp) if you dont shove wave after your kills against your enemies they dont actually lose out on much exp

Were you wandering around out of lane or something? That's the only way that happens.

As Ivern, were you leaving lane much, or where you in lane except for when you backed?
