Gold: The new Diamond

Just got out of a game that started with our Eve copypasting a speal about boosting services. Didn't claim any rank until we were in game (diamond 2), invaded the enemy Kha'Zix and 4-buffed him, kept him down like crazy.

A short while later I notice he (Kha) is unstoppable and hasn't died since the early beat-down Eve gave him. The rest of the game was pretty much a match of the jungle titans making plays left and right, as you can see by the score. At the end of the game come to find out that Kha claimed to be Master tier and just wasn't expecting cheese in such a low-tier game.

While I'm not necessarily complaining since I actually learned quite a bit from the game, I don't really agree with the way things worked out. I'm not a Master tier player, I'd hardly call myself gold, and the others I was playing with were pretty much on the same level. It's hard to be exposed to that kind of play level, especially if we just assume that person is gold like us.

Well first off, the eve was playing cocky (assuming, since kha said he wasn't expecting "cheese") and was playing the way high elo players play in low elo, not how they play in high elo.

This play style is actually incredibly oppressive when it works, however its so rediculously high risk that if kha's team HAD been ready for the cheese eve would have become a liability.

Smurfs are always going to be a fact of life in ranked, even if riot changes how accounts are created and/or links them to your main. People will find a way to play below their own elo for whatever reason.

The way YOU, as a lower elo player can prepare for this, is by playing the early game very safely (not just keeping you safe, make sure your team is safe via wards and babysitting), and by checking sites like op.gg or lolking.net to see if any of the enemy players show any kind of rediculous match history. If you can pinpoint a smurf, or even a player that seems over aggressive, you can make it backfire on them.

I've laned against diamond+ smurfs 3 games in a row on my other account. 1 was master at least, and another one was probably master (mechanics were good enough but no way to tell how good their game sense was when they were just dicking around the entire game getting fed off their ass).

Got reported every single one of those games too. Because a snowballing smurf can easily 100-0 you under your tower if you don't get help and obviously nobody is going to help the "baddy" who is getting zoned out of exp for half the game. And the other team constantly talked shit for fun too.

My only consolation is I got matched with one of the shit-talkers later and decided to go blue build mordekaiser without saying anything in chat so he flipped out and started feeding on purpose so he got a ton of reports. Hope he gets banned. If I don't stop playing for at least a month I'm going to probably go full troll mode in ranked. If I'm going to get reported every game by these dicks anyways, I might as well have fun with it, no!?

This community is pure cancer and it has already infected me. Save yourselves and quit league while you can.

Haha one of those games where you just sit back and watch the smurfs go at it.
