Countering A friend
So I am kinda new to League (level 11) and the person who got me into league always wants to 1v1, which is fine but all he uses is Miss Fortune. Whats the best way I can counter her?

Any assassin, Zed/Talon/Leblanc/etc, or pretty much any other ADC in the game as MF is currently in a pretty bad spot.

Xerath wouldn't be a bad choice, I think. Just stay out of her range, and she's immobile as hell.
Jax is, imo the best 1v1 champ out there :)
Caitlyn is nice and safe to use. When she ults or uses her slow, you can use your net to get out of the way to safety. You can also zone her out or trick her with your traps, and you should be able to out-range her.
Jinx will also scale into late-game better, and has a couple tricks to beat MF. It'll be a rough early game, because MF is a lane bully.
^^^any of these will work based on your style. Teemo blind so she does no damage for a period of engagement. Leblanc can kill her in 1 spell combination, AD Nidalee can also almost instant burst her to 0 if you land a spear while building tanky to counter her AD. Jax can aslo build tanky to counter her AD while dodging her attacks and gap close/stunning her.
If he's a good player you're hosed no matter what.
Itemization is more important, countering MF you want certain items.

+1 offensive or offense/defense item.
Grab at least one hitpoint+armor item before thornmail. With these items it's more or less impossible for an MF to beat you regardless of her itemization. Countering an ADC champion in a 1v1 is easy, especially one like MF that lacks utility.
