Smurfs...

I have recently started playing lol and have really been enjoying it but I can't get over the fact that there is so many smurfs. Every single game I have played has had at least 1 smurf with them getting 15+ kills against lvl 5 players. I finding it quite difficult to get better when you just get constantly rekt by some level 30.

I've found playing games with my 2 friends who are also lvl 30 more enjoyable even though the other team are the same, at least its somewhat fair game besides me being low level and noobie. But at least my team actually stands a chance.

I guess what I am trying to say is have you got any advice for a low level player slowly leveling up while I getting rekt by smurfs, because at the moments I really enjoy the game but it's almost pointless playing if I just get smurfed all over losing game after game.

Practice makes perfect. If you keep playing, you'll get better. I'd recommend sticking to bots until at least level 12 or 13 though.

You are getting better. They are playing the game again because they raged about being put in low Bronze (Elo Hell). Eventually you will be much better than them just because you have played against more experience.

Actually smurfs are really fun to play against and you can learn a lot from getting smashed by them

Seriously, the expierience for new players in this game is so awful. You dont have real masteries until level 30 because most of them are useless now that keystone masteries exist, playing without good runes is pretty cancer too (at least if youre used to playing with them), normal games at low level are basically "the team with more smurfs wins",... I kinda feel sorry for new players lol.

Didnt like em at first but youll def learn a lot from them if you take the time to recognize what they do right. Most of the time their game knowledge is more superior and it barely has anything to do with mechanics. One thing i did was read and watch a lot of videos on basic game understanding and meta.

After you lose more games you should eventually only be playing with new players. I guess the good thing of playing with smurfs is you can see more of what the game is about, especially after 30.

Seems like the learning curve in this game has really gone up since I started 5ish years ago. The new player experience has always been shit and probably always will be. The best thing to do is play, ask your friends questions, and just try and learn and have fun. Probably watch some videos. Back when I got 30 I realized I really had no idea how to play the game until I started playing ranked. Today, players are more aware of jungle and the support role but when I hit 30 I had no idea wtf those roles meant.

! would highly recommend you play bots until level 10-12. Usually only smurfs and people who are super ballsy/self-confident/yolo jump right into pvp after a few bot games. So, not only do you get practice against AI, who are a lot more forgiving, you'll also manage to avoid the bulk of smurfs once you reach level 10 or so.

I've leveled a fresh account before just to play with a newb friend of mine so she didn't have to get matched with level 30's. I can tell you, after about 3-5 games, smurfs will start to get matched up with exclusively smurfs. When I was first playing (about a year ago, right when snowdown started), I don't think I ever had a problem vs smurfs just simply due to the fact that I avidly avoided pvp until at least level 12.

I am abstaining, for only one reason; Riot can't fix the smurf problem.

Seriously, I would love to hear one reliable way for Riot to be able to KNOW which accounts are smurf and which aren't. There isn't one. So good luck.

I agree they are bad for the game, and suck, etc. But there's nothing to be done about it, unfortunately. People like progression systems, so they will continue to do it.

The other thing I will say is... don't play to win. Play to improve. I think that's a warped DoubleLift quote (well-known pro)... I think. But yeah, even when you get stomped, as long as you learn SOMETHING, it will make you less likely to get stomped again. Just keep trucking.

most of the people that "smurf" don't go past a tier higher than gold V. majority of them are currently stuck in silver for the last 8 months. they need a verification to know that they are actually indeed good so they proceed to create a new account and find validation by bullying players who just picked up the game. but we all go through this. i had my fair share of getting my ass kicked by an asshole smurf, and there's nothing you can do but keep playing and practicing. in the long run, he'll just get out of your tier.
