So... zz'rot is broken

The Bard Guy··4 votes·2,212 views

My friends and I were just in a game where the enemy team decided to buy 5 zz'rot portals, sounds like a troll team right? wrong. we never stood a chance with there severe advantage, and we realized too late so we couldnt build any of our own, so riot I plead to you that you at least only make one zz'rot portal available to each team, it is a good item in concept, but in the game with 5 different portals, that is just a downright outrage

So they did barely any damage?

Or did they buy the portals because you fed them and they had extra gold to buy standard offensive items AND portals?

you couldn't leave your lane alone without losing towers see also- blinking during Missile Command

here, lets put it in a way we can all understand, we got 10 guys with Frags throwing them at a tank, that tank, will go down, may take awhile, but for the cheap price and the constant stream of damage to turrets, its kinda stupid

Except that the spawns ignore champions? I think you forgot to read the item description sir.

Right, but you're assuming that the tank isn't firing back. If someone spends approx. 3k on Zz'rot Portal for 50/50 resists, while everyone on the opposing team gets DFG, BotRK, Rav. Hydra, or similarly costed items, the team that invested in actual combat stats should have a significant advantage.

Why didn't you just, kill the portals?

1 per team? You realize 1 portal alone does next to nothing right?

(except make the enemy and one ally start freaking out asking "what the hell was that?!" because they didn't read the patch notes)

My thought is to make Ohmwrecker counter ZZ'Rot Portal in some way. Ohmwrecker simply isn't used that much, and making it able to damage, destroy, or disable the Void Gates in some manner would give it a good niche as a mass-Portal counter.

I disagree. I think this would serve sort of like "unviable" champions who would be strong but are countered by one item. A good example is Malzahar. Fun champion, very useful versus hard-engage assassins especially, but his ulti's suppression is cancelled my QSS. The result? QSS is rarely bought, and Malzahar is rarely played (except by his skilled mains.) But if Malz popped up as strong, people would just buy QSS and he'd be put back down. It isn't 'healthy', it just leaves you with 2 under-used/under-played pieces of content.

Your idea would mean that, just like now, no one buys Ohmwrecker - but also, no one buys Zz'Rot, because that just spurs the enemy to buy Ohm and they cancel eachother's usefulness out. Leaving both parties feel like their items do nothing.

I would rather they were both viable strategic items, in separate situations.

You wouldn't get Ohmwrecker against a single Void Portal; you'd do it against a team that has multiple. Kinda like Thornmail - you don't get it unless the enemy has 4-5 physical damage dealers.

Lol that actually sounds hysterical.

It sounds troll but...

The game would be really dumb if taking turrets were as easy as defending portals.

Were they stacking portals or alternating them and sieging?

You guys are crying over an item that isn't very useful lol. Think of it this way... The spawns will target minions before towers. The spawns will NOT target champions. So to even serve the purpose of taking down towers, you MUST keep minion waves cleared. It can also serve as a defense if needed but a much better offense to finish off towers/buildings.

Inhib up? Are you a Cho who built pure tank? ZZ to the rescue! Maintain tank, but now you're also useful against towers! Are you Cait? Not doing well? Get ZZ and your friends will laugh at you and your life. ZZ has a purpose, a few actually! However, it's not OP. All you need to do is keep minions in front and destroy the nest. At the same time, if USING zz, keep minion waves cleared and a tower inhib nexus w/e is going down fast! but it is far from OP.

Was just in a match where the enemy team also bought ZZ'Rot portals. Sure, they didn't do much damage themselves, but they used them to block the minion wave mid and once the portals expired, a huge wave of what looked like over 100 minions, SUPER minions with baron, pushed down mid and obliterated anything in their way. Pretty sure Riot didn't intend for the portal to be used that way. Hope they fixed it.
