How is Fizz NOT broken? Need similar Champions to play!!! Burst preferred

So I've been main Mid Fizz for a long time. But then the Meta has seemingly shifted from the Tank Meta to the Poke Meta. So me being the amateur reacter that I am... Don't do well against Nidalees and Zeds. Then Tanks join the fight and since Fizz is a horrible tank fighter, now I not even good at Mid Lane. So, with the new RUNEGLAIVE, jungling time! So far very successful like my old mid lane. However, my friend keeps saying, oh Fizz is so broken because of his troll-@$$ Playful Trickster. I need some good counter arguments to prove that he isn't broken. And so I can use Fizz more often without being pressured of my friend saying he's Broken. Also, what champions are similar to Fizz. I need another champ to play!
