Double Item Purchase

I believe that champions should not be able to purchase double items. For example, you have removed Ezreal buying 2 Tears of the Goddess. The double Dark Seal item is strong on some champions. As for Jhin buying Several Infinity Edges, the damage output just does not add up. It does not give players the right to play, or the opportunity to counter the issue, if 1 auto from Jhin can remove 2/3rds of a squishy ADC/Support players health even with a bit of armor then it is quite unfair to the opposing team.

If Jhin weren't allowed to do that, then the only fair thing to do would be to increase his AS to AD conversion. (Most fair would be a 100% conversion of gold value, so 71% of his bonus AS as AD instead of 25%)... which would just make it so that he gets AD for less gold, earlier.

So, yes, players should be able to buy double items. IE already has a passive that doesn't stack and one of the highest item costs in the game. Unique passives already account for the effects of items.

So the penalties Jhin takes for buying multiples of IE are:

  • It costs a ton more than a Zeal item
  • The bonus damage doesn't stack
  • It has no AS, so he doesn't gain more MS on crits
  • It provides nothing for defense, unlike PD
