You can play Eve top, building either AP or AD bruiser. You can, if you really want to, play Eve mid, but that's more of an assassin thing, something she doesn't do the greatest.

If you play smart you can play eve top since she has an escape, mana regen while invis, and great burst. Problem is early on she can get two shot by most bruisers. I play AD eve, really well since I am two games from being in the top 100 eves NA, and she gets hella tanky with enough burst to kill mid or adc no problem.

Play eve as jungle or don't play her at all. The ENTIRE point of her kit is to pressure the map and make it so that technically any fight could turn into a 2v1 or 3v2 in a split second. She changes the warding patterns of the enemy team and is a jungler who's entire purpose is to create pressure around the map by denying vision and being able to sneak around the enemy team and enemy wards. If you're playing her as a top laner, you're entirely negating her early pressure, negating her entire passive, including the mana regen most of the time, and overall you would be much better served to play something like akali if you were looking for a top lane ap assassin. Play her in the jungle or don't play her at all, because she will be easily outclassed.

Can work both top and mid. Top she usually has better lanematchups that she can easily harras with her Q spam, mid she has a tougher lane but huge roaming potential.

I had this question as well. Played her on top because a more experienced Jungler called the role and selected their champ at the same time as I did. I had a HORRIBLE game. lol. But I think it was the match up. Had two champs with a ton of range on me. Had to play sneaky in order to get a kill but then got picked off by a friend. Poor choices on my part. Personally, I think if your not playing her in the Jungle, you should go Mid. That allows her to get use of her passive.

Once your lane is ahead, Fall back and spend your gold (accordingly) then cut through the jungle leading to either top or bot allowing for a solid 3v2, or even 4v2 depending on where the jungler is at that time. (Don't go where the Jungler is, but it always can happen) She's a solid pick if you play her cleverly.
