Mid Roam

Here is the thing, maybe its me just playing veigar too much but i never roam until mid-late game (10-20 minutes). i get blamed a lot for that, but its just i don't see why i should miss on important xp and farm to help top or bot if i don't kill my laner first ( he gets to have the xp and gold i miss) and i do ping where my laner is going, one ping for mia in my lane and another to where i think he is going to. i just feel that while he is gone i get to free farm and gain xp i will need to crush him later. am i wrong to stay in lane or should i just follow and try to counter gank while my laner go away? i usually play mid because i like to play mages and pokers, but i feel they should not go top or bot so it is why i play them mid, so should i switch lane or is mid my calling? fav champs lux, veigar, ahri and talon, with my sec as adc with fav cait jinx and ez.

With Lux, Ahri, and especially Talon you need to be roaming before 20mins. Lux because it's easy for her with her long range and she can push the wave fast (ensuring that you dont lose much xp/gold if your laner tries pushing back).

Ahri can also push waves fairly fast by level 6, and her ult + charm makes ganks very formidable, as the enemy bot lane doesnt have a lot of time to react.

Talon should 100% be roaming. His E makes it easy to travel between lanes quickly, he brings a lot of burst and needs those early kills as an assassin to establish a lead.

Veigar really shouldn't be roaming unless it's convenient. Laner is gone and you've already pushed to their tower? Time to ward up and either roam or back. He doesn't roam as much as your other mid laners because he hard-scales and needs as much cs/gold as he can get to speed that up.

On a separate note: this is a damn problem

mid-late game (10-20 minutes).

Sounds about right for veigar. I try to follow my midlane opponent if he is causing too much havok in bot lane though but it also depends if its needed--sometimes jgl can help for example.

I agree with Slythion he answered on all questions. Just want to add. To prevent or make unfavorable for enemy midlaner to roam, make sure not to get pushed, so when he roams he loses a lot of XP+gold and has tower HP reduced.
