This was a thing already at the mage patch and it hasn't been fixed since.

Just look at Ziggs demolishing towers.

He needs only 2 hits, from range.

As for this particular clip, akali with a ton of AP+lichbane would explain it pretty perfectly.

....Really any AP champ with a ton of AP+lichbane has been able to do this for ages.

And MF is also able to demolish towers hella quickly.

It's really not hard for a level 18 in a long game to destroy turrets.

40% AP is converted to attack damage when hitting a turret (in this case 400 damage). In ADDITION, Lich bane adds 75% Base AD + 50% AP = 500 + 50= another 550 damage. (net 900). Then you have 110 AD damage per hit, and Akali's hits do passive on hit damage as well.

Try a level 18 Galio with the same stats. He will 1 hit a turret for about 2300 damage due to his passive on every 4th hit (acts like a double lich bane with higher AP scaling).

The goal of the game is to shut these people down before they get this fed.....

At 30 minutes In? Yes, it is. Turrets should not matter other than maybe a place to play around if you're behind that late in the game

They talked about making turrets tankier.. And I hope that they actually bother to do things like bringing back lazer turrets so tanks won't be able to tank them for days in the enemy base, giving turrets scaling resistances and an altered version of the old Poppy's passive. If the turret is to take a really huge chunk of damage from X source, it would reduce it by X percentage. Also nerf demolish. And make Herald lose more health depending on how healthy a turret is when it rams the turret. Maybe the last one is a stretch though
